I think you mean the winner of 2 vs 2 will have another ranked win. The loser will have another loss.Yeah still in Indy. It's a way to get an extra game so maybe a team like PSU, if they go 8-1 might have a chance to make the CFP. Essentially will add another ranked win to whoever finishes 2nd in each division.

That's possible. We have a schedule void of the 3-4 easy wins on it. Most of our losses have come from PSU, Wisc, and OSU under Harbaugh -- since we play all of them it stands to reason that a 4 loss season is very much a possibility. I think you'll see a lot of good teams nationally end up around .500 because of the short schedules. With Minnesota, Wisconsin, Penn State and Ohio State already scheduled and a Chapionsip weekend game with the likes of Iowa or Minnesota again, there is a good chance to go 4-5
There's also a possibility that the shortened schedule helps Michigan chances at making it to the CCG.That's possible. We have a schedule void of the 3-4 easy wins on it. I’m curious the logic behind this. Michigan typically has a cupcake non-con schedule so they are getting easy wins. Are you saying that by the end of the season they are tired and that’s why Michigan falls apart starting on Halloween? There's also a possibility that the shortened schedule helps Michigan chances at making it to the CCG.
Because the non conference doesn't play into the CCG. We had more time to prepare the team without playing games, without giving up film to study. Our B10 schedule is pretty typical this year and more importantly, the away games are played without fans (away games typically hurt us the most). So I think there's a lot that could potentially benefit our chances.I’m curious the logic behind this. Michigan typically has a cupcake non-con schedule so they are getting easy wins. It's Harbaugh. And I'm not sure what to make of it. They're in kind of a tough spot now with the University losing millions due to Covid. Announcing a huge coaching contract, probably somewhere in the neighborhood of like 5 years 40-45 million dollars, wouldn't be taken very well under normal circumstances, let alone during a budget crisis.CFB trivia time!
Who's the only P5 coach on the last year of his contract?

He's already making that kind of money. Coaches don't typically take a pay cut. If we pay him $9 million (what he's currently making) for a 5 year deal (a standard contract extent ion) that would be $45 million dollars.Michigan would lose their academic standing for being fools enough to give him that kind of money.

Debatable. We were a 5-6 team before he got here. I'm perfectly fine with extending his current contract. I don't believe we could pay someone significantly less who'd do as good of a job here (let alone better).I rest my case.
He didn't earn the first contract, so unless you are satisfied with his results so far, I sure as hell wouldn't pay him the same money.

As much as I enjoy this conversation repeating itself like groundhogs day, no other coach in the conference would meet the standards you're talking about except those coaching at the superpower that is now OSU. Franklin has a shit record vs every major team in the B10. Fleck has a shit record vs. every major team in the B10. Wisconsin has a shit record vs. every major team in the B10. Yes, most have a single win, maybe 2, against OSU in the last decade that Michigan does not have. Congrats. And yes, most (by a product usually of being in the West) have a CCG appearance that htey lost to OSU....that they wouldn't have if they played in the East. Hooray. PSU backed into theirs by Michigan losing to Iowa. Hooray. Here are some of the numbers the school will take into consideration for a new contratct.
0-5 vs. Ohio State (only coach in UofM history to start 0-5 & only coach to give up 55+ in back to back games)
10-14 vs. all ranked AP opponents
2-11 vs. the top 10
1-10 an an underdog
1-4 in bowl games (4 game losing streak and only UofM coach to lose back to back bowl games by double digits)
only the second time in school history that UofM has lost 4 straight bowl games
zero CCG appearances
zero conference titles
His resume speaks for itself, it's not good. With his overwhelming lack of accomplsiments do you really think he's worth the money? Ran across an article a week or so ago- with contract uncertainty, does jim harbaugh need to justify his salary this season. A few things from it.
-from coaching shirtless to satellite camps to appearing in Judge Judy's galllery to sleeping at the home of a recruit, Jim Harbaugh remains persistently bizarre
-he appears to be having issues with the president (Mark Schlissel)
-has never played nice with his superiors, had issues at Standford and S.F.
No doubt UofM will be in a very tough place after the season. If he has another disappointing year justifiying a new contract will be difficult. But I find it odd that in three stops he's had an issue with all of his bosses
And what the fuck you got against coaches that eat boogers?I'm done making fun of Harbaugh and UofM football. Okay, no I'm not.

The numbers don't lie. For the money he's making he's the most overrated coach in the country.
Michigan would lose their academic standing for being fools enough to give him that kind of money.
Yeah well. What are considered two of my state's "highly rated academic" institutions own 50% of the overpaid coaches on this list. Proof you don't have to be smart to have a lot of money. He's already making that kind of money. Coaches don't typically take a pay cut. At most you could argue we pay harbaugh a couple million too much. But it's a rather irrelevant point because we pay him what we need to, to keep him out of the NFL. And the reality is that Michigan isn't OSU and no coach we bring in is going to elevate us to that level any time soon.
What OSU has built is extremely unique and unreasonable to compare any time to right now except maybe Alabama or Clemson. Are we overpaying Harbaugh? Probably. Are we getting nothing out of it, no. That's silly. We're winning. And if we keep winning, those things will come.
