PAC News

Either UNLV or Nevada should be a shoe in. The PAC already holds their media days and plays their CCG in Vegas.
Vegas market, SDSU for the San Diego market should give them both a leg up.

The BIG showed us that markets still matter by cornering LA (granted SC’s brand alone was worth the move) so PAC imo would be wise to get what good/decent markets they can if/when the poaching happens again.

IMO, not really ... I posted an article here where the LA market is only worth about $16 million a year to the conference. Markets just aren't where it's at anymore. Getting two markets ranked 28th and 42nd, but with no brand just isn't worth that much.

What matters is brand and eyeballs. USC certainly has a brand, UCLA less so but not insignificant. Eyeballs USC is 14th, and UCLA is 25th. For comparison sake, Notre Dame is 6, Clemson is 10, and FSU is 15. Those are 3 teams everyone agrees would be snatched up if available.

SDSU and UNLV are in the 80s for TV viewership. And they really have no brand. And they will never get a share of CFP money. At least SMU gets you Dallas and a bunch of rich frat boys.

I'm seeing chatter (nothing I can link to) that there "potentially" is a deal in place that is close the B12. Evidently it involves a streamer as part of the deal but no one knows if it is Apple or Prime.

So the big question if true is what is the status of GOR for UW and OU.

The PAC just had a news dump stating that there won't be a deal to present on Friday. As for a potential deal, I would expect any deal that is presented to be close to the Big 12. Maybe a little more, maybe a little less. As for a streamer being part of the deal, I don't think that's necessarily a problem as long as there are other linear partners. The Big Ten and Big 12 also have streaming components to their deals. The details will determine if a potential deal is acceptable.

As for the GOR, if the deal is acceptable, I would expect UW and UO to sign it. Maybe one last call to the Big Ten if they want this to happen before 2030.

So I guess the PAC heard that chatter as well and wanted it toned down.

I honestly have no idea what chatter you are talking about. There's been no indication that a deal is being presented today (when the PAC 12 is meeting)

they are waiting til Deion heals from his surgery to drop the news

I mean the SEC has each team stream one game a year on ESPN+. Whether streaming is relevant or not to your deal depends on how many games. It will be used against you in recruiting ... no one wants to be on Prime. Not everyone can watch it, and the production will likely be subpar.

Despite the fact that Pac-12 Commissioner George Kliavkoff didn't want Pac-12 media day to end up being about the media rights deal or expansion, the day was flooded with questions about those two very topics.

:dhd:
is this supposed to be a gotcha moment for you?
we all said we expected GK to have these questions but not to the players and coaches and while i didnt listen to all of them the handful i did none had questions about the media deal or expansion.

Saw rumblings where the PAC is rumored to stay at 10 teams and not looking at expansion. This could explain the SDSU move to stay in their conference.

What...you mean they didn't ask Michael Penix about a media rights negotiation that he's not involved with nor will he be impacted by? Shocking development

Dude a PAC reporter stated this. Not some B12 reporter. Reread the quote. “The day” doesn’t mean just your retarded commissioner.
