COVID knocked out tOSU at Oregon game. Pretty sure the schools will announce the date and year of the rescheduled game.

I doubt it's that. UO/tOSU already have a series schedule and the home game was already bought out by Ohio State.

I don't think it's about conference expansion either. It's probably some sort of promo video. Maybe for ESPN or a commercial.

Here is the thing we don't know what the B1G will do as there have been plenty of rumors. If schools start following Colorado the PAC is done and that opens the door for the B1G to negotiate without appearing to tamper (which is a big deal).

The B1G created a really bad scheduling problem, even worse than I think most of us realized at first, and adding Oregon and Washington helps ease that. For that reason, I could see the B1G offering a lower revenue deal to both schools which you have to think at that point they take.

I would be shocked if there is an announcement soon but once dominoes start falling we should find out pretty fast because at that point the only three choices are:

1. Find replacement schools which would be a complete joke
2. Join the B12 also
3. Accept a deal from the B1G

#1 doesn't make any sense and two isn't a bad strategy if you can't get the B1g invite. The other schools that are left behind are going to get crushed though.

they already have a home and home in 32-33. Oregon (if pac stays at only 3 non conference games) only has other open dates in 29-30-31. and even then they already have home and home with Michigan State in 29-30.

If the Big Ten ever plans on bringing in UO/UW, it would make sense to do it now. No buyouts, UO/UW would take a reduced rate, etc. If the Big Ten chooses to wait, UO/UW will probably join the Big 12 and the buyout is fairly significant.

As for the Big 12, I'm hearing they're targeting Arizona, Oregon and Washington right now. The questions is, if UO/UW go to the Big Ten, do they bring in Utah/ASU or do they just stick at 14 and wait for the ACC to crack?

I think they bring in Utah and ASU now because they take out a competitor in the PAC and nothing is guaranteed down the road. In fact, I think they do it if Oregon and Washington come.

I don't think they want to add that many schools that quickly. There's still a big shakeup looming in the ACC and expanding east may make more sense when it comes to expanding their footprint. Based on what I'm hearing, I honestly wouldn't be surprised if they don't add Utah or ASU at all. Regardless of what UO, UW and the Big Ten do.

The PAC is done as a competitor. UO/UW are exploring exit options. Once that happens, there's really no way to salvage the situation.

The B12 almost has to add the 4 corners if they want to come. The PAC survives losing Colorado and Arizona. They wont if the 4 corners move or when Oregon and Washington does. It’s the whole reason the B12 went after Colorado. In the hopes that dominos start falling and the PAC stops being a Power conference if There is a large exodus.

They may end up taking Utah/ASU as well. However, I think BY is going to wait and see what UW/UO do before filling those spots. If UO/UW leave the PAC for the Big Ten, the PAC stops being a power conference, even if Utah and ASU remain.

Unless the entire ACC blows up they aren't going anywhere. We've discussed this. There aren't enough landing spots for the ACC to implode. Plus, the B1G would rather pick the PAC carcass, and the SEC is fine where they are now. The ACC will be the next round of expansion, but that will be in 2032-2036-ish.

I used to believe that. 247 and others are saying it could happen much sooner than that.

Nothing is going to happen with the ACC until 2036 and 13 years is an eternity.

When the ACC folds (and it most likely will) likely scenarios are:

SEC:
1. FSU
2. Clemson
3. UNC
4. Virginia or VT

Big 10: How many do they take?
1. ND
2. Virginia, Duke, Miami, GT, VT

The Big 12 could be looking at:
- NC State
- Louisville
- GT
- Miami

I think most likely they will be looking at Louisville and NC State and maybe GT so it's not like they are going to be doing that much better and a bird in the hand is better than a bird in the bush. I think everyone settles at 20 teams (which is too many but that seems to be where this is headed).

At that point, the SEC, B1G and Big 12 take their 60 teams, take 8 at large bids of everyone else and form their own basketball tournament with play in games because it will be worth around 1 billion.

I honestly think that is why the Big 12 is focusing so hard on basketball as they want a seat at that table and they might have the portfolio to pull it off.

I just don’t see a GOR being broken with this much time left on one. A year with a big money buyout is one thing but…

I’ll never say never in this environment but, highly unlikely imho.

Fair enough. That where I was a few months ago honestly. A lot of people seem to think it's unlikely that the ACC is gonna lost through this contract though.

Fixed that Big12 imo.
Right or wrong the BIG loves their markets so I’m claiming they take GT and Miami.
Big 12 would get the basketball/football combos with SU/UL/NCState plus the Backyard Brawl to sell as a good rivalry game in football. Though not as big, Syracuse/WVU is a trophy/rival game as well in football. I like the way that all ends up TBH other than getting VT in that mix with that group too.

I love the thought of Notre Dame in the BIG.. where they should have been decades ago.
