OREGON to the B1G

I think there are. The ACC is about to explode. The SEC is for sure taking FSU and CLemson the instant they have a chance to.
Meh, that is all bark and no biscuit. FSU and Clemson are stuck with a massive buyout and are untouchable for years as are the other ACC schools.

Even the MWC teams will come at a cost of 30mm a year so no one from that conference can afford to leave for a while, especially with the Apple deal on the table.

I really not joking when I say there is NO one for the PAC to recruit as their timing has been awful.

If the B1G takes OSU and Wazzou that will be the greatest gift to the SEC that they ever got.

Let's be real Oregon and Washington are lucky if they get an invite and have no leverage to make demands or put on pressure. If they even tried the B1G would be fools not to walk away.

If state politics ruin this opportunity for them then that is short-sighted on the politicians. It's better to have one P2 school in the state as an economic generator than none.

True, but as @Wizardhawk pointed out the BoR has more to consider than just the football programs. That holds true for the Governors office as well.

I know there was tremendous pressure from the state for UCLA to not leave. They tried to pressure USC to stay, but there was nothing they could do because USC is private.

Agree that it would be stupid for state politics to screw it up though.

If I were the BoR I would be considering what the B1G AAU network would mean to UW.

There just isn't a reasonable objection to stopping Washington from leaving if the B1G makes the offer. Washington State will have to cut its budget but they are better suited for a conference like the MWC anyway.

With the Apple deal the PAC will fall to 5th place in money earnings and will have lost 70% of their exposure going to streaming.

Really seems like a master class bluff UO and uDub pulled to get more money outta the B1G
That is an easier answer for the B1G: OK great then we get to keep the Rose Bowl alive so best of luck to you guys!

Cal could go to the Big West. They'd be a good fit there.

Interest in sports there has been declining forever.

As for Stanford, I think they are a better overall sports program than Colorado, and Arizona. But there's other things at play there.
Stanford is great at a lot of olympic sports. It's pretty much what defined the PAC and made them unique. What other, lesser conference is going to offer the same types of competition?

Seems like they are thinking about more, at least from the outside.

More likely, Brett McMurphy doesn't know jack squat

He's honestly been more on top of it than most. The media got played this morning.
