2024 Recruiting Thread

it may not mean anything, but it's the reason why Fong or Simmons haven't backed off their UT picks. The folks that picked mizzu were back in August.. notice how a couple flipped to UT, while others put thier casts in last month?

Like i said sure it might not work out.. but Baker was a silent since July and that one worked out

Here's to WIngo and Black coming through on their silents

#HookEm
Just wondering - how do you know these guys are "silent commits"? What's the point? How do you know he's not a "silent commit" to Missouri? From what I see, the "Lead Experts" are split, and Fong has a way lower hit rate than Trieu.

We have a couple of inside guys on surly who are close to IT analysts..

they dropped it (shared) the night he did it and the next day picks were coming in.

Granted it's a different feel when it comes to OOS kids compared to in state kids.. but they said the same about Baker despite his tosu interest and Oregon.

Only time i fear it not coming true is when aggy is involved, they are a huge thorn when it comes to recruiting still

But why silent? What's the point? This phrase always came off as one people like to use to make themselves sound smarter than they are. Then if/when it isn't true, it's just "oh something changed last second".

I can't tell you the number of times absolutely confirmed insiders at UGA have said on boards that a commit is silent. I'd put the success rate of those at about 60%. In the NIL era, it's going to be worse. If a kid isn't solid enough to go public with it, he's totally ripe to be hit with a NIL package that changes his tune. No idea here, and Mizzou would not normally be the team I'd worry about, but it is his home state, they have a high school NIL law that gets him paid NIL now IF he goes to a state school eventually.

The only think worse than a silent is the old "those two guys want to play together in college." That never works out.

the high school NIL dwindles as the days go bye... he's an early enrollee

It ain't a matter of time. It's not like he's really hawking sub-samiches for a sub-shop. Some Mizzou alum gives him $50K for showing up and doing a PSA or something.

Today should boost our recruiting a little I guess?

Maybe @Thiefery can set me straight about how that cow is gonna eat the cabbage?

Some insider info from UGA Rivals site for my OU and TX friends:

-Think Williams Nwaneri switches to OU, so if he decommits from Mizzou, I wouldn't get our hopes up
-Ryan Wingo not going to Texas would be a shocker - fuck you, @Thiefery

He give you a TL on when they expect him to announce?

Nwaneri has always been ours to lose. He's still wearing OU gear in his high school games.

How are UGA people feeling about Breeland?

I know there's some growing optimism on the Oregon boards that they're going to win their first of what seems like 100 recruiting battles against UGA. However, it seems like Miami and Georgia are still in the picture.
