Well, we don't' really know the context of what's being accused here. I personally can't think of an advantage a team would have by sitting someone in the stands. From someone who sits in the stands 7-8 times a year, I can tell you most of the time I come home, watch highlights and see a bunch of stuff that I didn't/couldn't see in the stadium. I guess you could gain some minor bits of information from being in person but it would have to and couldn't only be supplemental to the video scouting that every single team does. Unless they were very literally on the sidelines of games I just can't see what significant value this would hold.
