More Michigan Cheating

Them moving forward with his contract means nothing. If it comes out he cheated and they fire him that's for cause and the contract is void anyway.
Sure it does. Because if they had information that would lead them in that direction already, they wouldn't move forward with it. They would keep him in his current contract (which already has that language)

It seems like something that is calling into question the integrity of the sport should be handled swiftly.

Either tell us UM did nothing wrong or explain what they have done wrong and give out a punishment.

Letting it hang in the air hurts both UM and their opponents, but I think it will wear on Michigan more (in big games and as the season goes on). It has to be impossible for the players and coaches to ignore all this noise.

There’s just been so much smoke it’s hard to imagine this is made up or a misunderstanding. And if it is false reporting, Michigan and Harbaugh ought to be pissed.
It sounds like the NCAA hasn't shared much with the b10. I don't think anyone at this point has the information needed to rule on this. I'd expect part of the B10 "action" is to say basically just that.

It was more about my iron dome joke from earlier lol
Every time Biden enters a room or a conversation we lose. First the United States and now the University of Michigan. We had a "full house", but we just got Trumped. Thanks.

There's not a good trump iron dome gif out there

That's what you get paid the big bucks for.

If you can investigate it in a month, and it turns out to be true, you bitch slap them. It's really simple. He has the authority to do that. Look this directly affects the competitive balance in this current year. To kick it down the road a few years is one of the problems the NCAA has always had. Then you are penalizing the wrong people.

As an attorney and do some quick thinking, I'd do this:

1. I want you to provide me with every thing you have about Stalions.
2. I want access to all cell phones, cell phone records, laptops, and every other mode of communication.
3. I want access to all bank accounts in any way related to the athletic department.
4. And, so on.

If they hesitate for one second. One "well, we don't think you are entitled to that" type of moment and I'd say fine, I'll rule with what I have. I'd vacate all their wins in 2021, 2022, and 2023, and disqualify them from post-season this year. I'd suspend the HC, and anyone else that had any knowledge of it.

This has been going on for a couple of weeks. They have intel from before. They have intel now.

The Big 10 Commissioner is very limited in what punishments he can hand out. Basically fines.

For there to be severe punishment like vacating wins it would take a committee made up of university presidents.

Why would you need to change all signs?

I'm going to break this down very simply for you,

1 finger means run
2 fingers means pass

If you know this and I add a layer

3 fingers means do the 2nd sign I use
4 fingers means use the 1st sign I use

end of the other team knowing your signs and very little additional information is needed to be remembered....And teams add these kind, or modify, these kind of layers all the time to specifically counter sign stealing.
Yes all teams just use a simple run/pass sign. I feel like I am being punked. Where is the camera? Nobody can be this dense.

You seem to have missed the point. IT was simplified on purpose. You can take an entire playbook of signals, add a layer and keep everything else the same. You don't need to recreate an entire signal system over again. And teams do this...regularly.

Yes you do bc if the team illegally obtained all the other stuff from before, how long do you think it's going to take them to figure out that whole one extra layer that was added?

@NewPhoneWhoDis LOL and you try and say I make excuses, good god
You ARE the MnB of Ohio State fans. You actually argue you don't make excuses. It is why I said -- you and MnB should have your own thread where you can go back and forth. You could charge admission and make some serious money.

Dont' compliment him like that

I hope he is joking with some of his responses. That being said -- changing signs isn't some labor intensive, time consuming task. My HS team changed our signs on a weekly basis. It doesn't excuse Stalions for what he was doing, as I think it is, at the very least, sleazy and at the most, it is illegal. (I don't know the NCAA rules).

That being said -- with all the teams and schools being reported as knowing about it -- The sign stealing would have been moot, as the signs would have been changed before they even played Michigan. So it would be back to what every team does and trying to steal the signs during the game. Again -- it doesn't excuse Stalions, I personally think the guy is an embarrassment -- but I will be interested to see what is true and what is rumor from all of this in the end. I don't know how these are handled internally, but if the evidence was as blatant as the media is painting it out to be -- I can't imagine he'd only be suspended with pay. They'd simply cut ties with him altogether, like they did with Weiss. (I still want to know what he was doing going into other employees email's at UM)

Again, knowing a 3rd party was at their games is not necessarily an NCAA violation (discussed in length here). So they can be upset that maybe Michigan found a grey area, but until the NCAA rules on this there's absolutely no way of knowing what the outcome will be.
Fuck, here he goes again with the "3rd party."

"Agency" you dumb mother fucker. You can't get someone to do your dirty work. You are responsible for their actions.

And it is totally unfair that an inferrior team not only has to prep for UM, but also wonder if they have to change all their signals. Changing signals mid-season is not trivial, and it's not something you should have to do in one week's time. That you can't see that is mind-numbing stupidity on your part.

It is time consuming. It's not something I should have to do because you cheated. It's something I might do at a basic level because you have people during the game, but I have 20 hours of time with the players during the week to do all our prep. Signals shouldn't be a major part of that.
