Oh... you thought it just went up? So you only want to invest in something that only goes up. Not sure I can help you with that but if you want to zoom out a little bit, I think you'll get a better perspective.I think this is what's probably concerning:

If every day since 2009 you had dollar-cost-averged-in at no point would you ever, even one day, have been under water.
Name another investment like that. Just one.
You're highlighting all the gains and none of the massive losses. Volatility isn't the only concern in investing, but it is a big one.Oh... you thought it just went up? You seriously want to compare what Bitcoin has done over the last 7 years to any other investment? Great, pick one and let's compare! You're highlighting all the gains and none of the massive losses. Volatility isn't the only concern in investing, but it is a big one.
Crypto is crazy and will be for awhile. Separating out all the obvious Ponzi schemes and dismissing the less mainstream crypto currencies as illegitimate strike at the core of the problem with Bitcoin. Which is that people don't understand it, so they'll sell and buy with reckless abandon.
How 'bout a traditional portfolio? Some risk is better than all risk. You seriously want to compare what Bitcoin has done over the last 7 years to any other investment? Great, pick one and let's compare!
Dole loves t-bills. Shall we compare those?
Rolex? Wanna compare that? Disney? Tesla?
Huh?It's not a problem at all. All value will inevitably flow to Bitcoin.
See the chart I posted. People hate volatility. Investors are dumb enough to pump money into things they don't understand... for awhile, but ultimately will trust gold and t-bills if the market gets tight. No one's going to give a shit about the 'blockchain' in a major recession, dude.Read The Bitcoin Standard and stop conflating crypto and Bitcoin.
Also, see the chart I posted.![]()
If that's what you focus on in that chart, you need a psychiatrist not an investment.I think this is what's probably concerning:

Remember when a poster called Bitcoin "very niche" in this thread.
We have a thread about crypto.View attachment 110280
See Dole, you don't have to know anything about it, you can just dive right in.![]()
Dole is putting his money in tbills and extended warranties.
You believe that an extended warranty from Best Buy is a better investment than Bitcoin.Stocks, bonds, munis, T-Bills, real estate and lottery tickets.
