The reality is. Even if Michigan had a losing case, losing that case was a far better outcome than the perception of settling it the day before. The downside of losing the case is exactly where we are now.

I agree they are good. Both teams are good. MI has the advantage in QB and Oline which of course is huge. I think it will be a good game but the edge going to MI.

Ultimately, there's a reason we pay a guy $8 million dollars a year though and that can't be overlooked here. Sherron is now in charge of 3 different things, which is a lot for 1 person to manage in a game (especially a game of this magnitude).

Only if there wasn't worse things that could come out in a continuing investigation.

Not to mention video of Harbs having to try to defend could leave a worse image.

This was the easy way out.

This was the easy way out when the suspension came down. This was a baffling move to do the day before your lawsuit against them in response was about to be heard by a judge.

And Stallion is not there to make the play calls in game for him so that hurts.

Just screwing with you. If Sherron is still going to make the play calls that makes things more difficult but many coaches call their own plays.

I'm not sure there's another option here, we're down a coaching spot that other teams will have. It's not like they're going to hire someone for the next two weeks to sub-in. And you can't take an analyst and all of a sudden turn them into an OC. Just from a number of coaches on the sideline perspective, it's a pretty significant disadvantage. Didn't quite matter against nonsense teams, it did probably matter against PSU (though that game meant less) and the game was simplified to nothing but runs. But against a team like Ohio State, there's no way it doesn't have an impact.

It has an impact if the game is close. If there are chances that need to be taken the HC is more likely to take those chances. Sherron will have a script, and I would guess 75% run plays.
 
This is a total out for them. They know they can beat Maryland without Harbaugh, but now if they lose to Ohio State they can make the excuse that it was because they didn't have Harbaugh. The committee will probably eat this excuse up and put Michigan with Harbaugh as coach in the playoffs.

Dude they settled now because it makes it possible for Harbaugh to coach during the playoff and puts this in the NCAA’s court and they won’t have anything done until after the playoff. You are just buying time and maximizing the know variables for the now.

You’re agreeing to these sanctions doesn’t mean this is over and the case is not near closed so you can still lose.

There are going to be additional penalties but the odds are in your favor they won’t so punitive you can’t over come then like double digit scholarship reductions, no show for Harbaugh or post season ban but all are in play.

Humility is going to be an important factor and I would start practicing it as a fan base because the more you guys resist publicly the more pressure other schools are going to exert on the governing bodies. Remember this isn’t a court of law and they make their shit up as it goes so the smart play is be humble in public, shut up and let your attributes do the heavy lifting behind closed doors.

Your fan base could be your own worst enemy in this case.

Unlikely to get to the playoff unless you beat Ohio State. Who knows what the NCAA will do (as discussed at length). I'd much rather them go after winning THIS year than worry about what ifs later. Next year moves to a 12 team format -- IE, way easier to get in.
