No no. They are Grandfathered in. Excuse allowed. They didn't want to be there.
They weren't in the SEC then so that excused can't be used until next year.

What about Ewe Von Shamman?I remember when Baker desecrated The Shoe. Still haunts my dreams.
It is a great time to be alive. OAM fans begging other teams to do what they can't. Life is good.
If the Lions win tomorrow -- I can die a happy man.
I’m actually rooting for the Lions because of all the obnoxious blow hard 49ers fans around where I live.
Well how did those top recruiting classes far against Kansas, K-State, Iowa State, Baylor, West Virginia, and Texas Tech? Oklahoma didn't even win the Big12 this past year. Good luck in the SEC, but the Sooners hope here is that SEC money brings them a chance to hire a big time coach that can coach through the SEC schedule. Because if Oklahoma wasn't dominating the Big12 with those top recruiting classes, then coaching must be the problem.
I'm so grateful that you've never brought up Oregon's recruiting classes.
I did. And he said how Oregon has carried the PAC the past 15 years, even though they have less conference titles than Oklahoma in that time frame
Yeah, Oklahoma didn't have much in the way of competition, did they?
I would wager the B12 has a winning record against the PAC in that time frame but I didn't look it up
PAC squashed them last year.
Facts: OU is in the middle of a coaching change. Maybe it works, maybe it doesn't. We all know - or you should - that coaching changes disrupt the success of top programs. If Venables doesn't work, it will be a top destination for another coach; who knows, maybe Lanning? But OU is not going to become Arky, and I have mad respect for both programs having grown up at a time when both were really good.Browsing through this thread and reading arguments about how Oklahoma is going to be more successful than Arkansas in the SEC, I see the argument for is that Oklahoma has these top recruiting classes.

Since 2010 the PAC is 23-34 against the B12.
If you just take bowl games which generally should be more evenly matched and not games where the top of the PAC is playing Texas Tech or the top of the B12 is playing Colorado then the PAC is 9-19.
PAC had a great year last year but have been terribly inadequate up to that point for a good amount of years.
The cream of the BigXII is leaving. What's left is rancid.
