Yeah thats Hall. Like you said they play hard as hell. They cant really score though.

They also got very fortunate facing MU with Ross getting hurt, Uconn with Clingan, Prov with Hopkins, SJU didnt have Dingle or Pitino.

So the gaudy record was a little fools gold. They should be aiming for 11-9

Bad match up for you guys naturally and obviously a horrid shooting game.

But the combination of lots of 3s and a big like Dixon(as good as he is) is not the combo for Soriano. That guy is a defensively liability and you have to expose it with paint drives or a big like Oso
 
Same mentally lapse stretches even against DePaul. Never in doubt. Played with our food.

But every time we were up 16-19 pts. On offense wed do stupid unnecessary shit or be sloppy with ball. When just giving it to oso to either drive or pace had a 110% success rate.

Kam with the worst game of his life. Still cant make open shots. IDK what is going on with his 3 ball.

Defensively was actually per usual pretty damn good. Some lost assignments. DePaul just like every team we play just kept bombing 3s they have not at any point hit all year. Crazy being like a top 10 D but also having teams and/or players shoot insane vs us every game.

Brutal Lowery today. Norman right now always a no show. Need Ross back badly.

Oso Ighodaro is the best center in the Big East

It’s not enough to say the Arizona native is great, he’s one of the best we’ve ever seen at Marquette.

Probably the best non Edey big in the country. People like the base line stats more than all around game but no one does what Oso does on both ends as a point center that handles the ball from anywhere.

Hell we were even +9 vs purdue in the half Oso didnt have foul trouble.

It's a pretty fair statement.

He's been under the radar because he plays for FAU but the Goldin kid has more of an ability to dominate a game on the college level when he has it going, so I'd pick him over Oso, and even in some cases even Edey.

But in the Big East, yea.

Kalkbrenner is too slow, Soriano is a black hole, and Clingan is not quite there yet.

Dixon has actually been really good this year, but he doesn't rebound or defend enough.

I actually like Bediako from SH, but ... more of a defensive player.

Goldin? No way. Hes a good player but hes closer to Oduro from Prov than Oso, Kalk or Clingan. Really hes the mid major Kalk without shooting and worse defense.

Hes too lumbering so he cant even give you as many minutes. Doesnt shoot at all(so cant even claim that on Oso). He scores and rebounds the same playing virtually DePaul level comp nightly. And he doesnt know how to pass. Goldin is a dump and score guy. You can cant clear out one side of the court and let him go 1 on 1 face up and either score or initiate a bucket.

Oso dominates as a point forward that can bring the ball up. Can sprint down the court after a made basket and dunk it before the entire team gets back. And not just team D but hes a dominate individual defender that can switch and guard 1-5

Badiako has been a big surprise hes a load defensively. Dixon is always great on O, tough guard.

Nah, he's more athletic than Kalkbrenner and Clingan, the minutes thing must be conditioning. But in a big game, if he's hot, he can carry you for stretches.

Oso's value is more high post system player. The bringing the ball up they don't need because they have so many handlers. He doesn't have as much freedom as the guards, I think Shaka needs to let him do more if they want to go far in March, because the guards just go crazy cold.

Last year they had Prosper to help with that
 
Providence should be banned from hosting home games until they fix their fucking court. Its been a decade of this shit.

It looks like players are playing ice they are slipping so much. It already cost Hopkins his knee this year. Loads of other players have gotten hurt in the past.

Luckily Chase Ross this year was only out for the 2nd half and not longer.

Place is a joke.
 
That was a great fucking win. Struggled in first half because TK was borderline Derrick WIlson, Oso was Oso in his all around game but missed bunnies for 2/7. Jop couldnt make shit and missed free throws. Kam hurt. Still lead by 1.

2nd half. Domination. TK was still off but his passing was on. Jop hit shots. Oso isnt just the 2nd best big not named Edey in america. Hes probably the 2nd most indespensible player. Get in foul trouble with 15 min left. We look inept for 3 offensive possesions. Hall scores at will 3 times in a row. He comes back in, you blink and we are back up 12.

When Oso is on the floor. We get a wide open shot and force a miss almost every single possession. We dont shoot great and cant rebound so sometimes it still doesnt work out. But the we get what we want on both ends over and over.

Hope we rest Kam for Nova and Gtown. Part of his struggles were he was playing on a bad leg all year. Yesterday he sprained his ankle. Tried to start today. Clearly could not even run. Just rest him. Take the L vs Nova. Beat Gtown. Get him healthy.

Need Ross back around the same time, D is still good. But hes elite.

No SJ still makes our depth a big issue and makes our floor lower. But I think ceiling is higher cause its forcing us to unleash point Oso and on ball TK at all times.

Still need consistency to avoid a march debacle.

Claude can’t shoot for shit but they have 3 good guards so they’ve been formidable at times just very inconsistent.

For as flawed as they are metrics have loved them tho making them a better win they should be. Yesterday hurt tho, dropped from 40 to 53 in NET

Nah we had our loss 4 minute stretch where everyone loses composure at once. And Mark Armstong who only looks high major vs us has the crowd amped.

I knew Nova would fight back though. Game on.
 
Also, Dixon has traveled probably 9 times today. Called for zero.

I am still waiting for NCAA refs to give Kolek the star treatment the media gives him. Every half of every game hes bumped like 3 times for no calls that are clear fouls on every other player.

Its annoying cause hes the only guy on this team that does actually draw contact(aside from Oso where its basically intentional to prevent a dunk/oop).
 
Gonna end up losing by 10 ahha. We are clearing out for Joplin drives(least athletic black man in basketball)

And Nova is making everything. I think we have fouled a 3 pt shooter in 10 straight games(its somewhere around that)
