watched them in person last Saturday.

holy shit, it's like their roster was constructed straight out of the 90s. no 3's, mid range 2's (which is considered a bad shot unless you can hit it at an unusually high %) + undersized bruisers inside.

it's a very outdated brand of basketball. it also goes without saying that Payne is a horrible coach. Deacs went BANANAS from outside and in the midst of that, that genius decided to go zone.

the first Duke/UNC game used to always be on a week night

Forbes has been such an immense upgrade over Manning & Bzdelik that I don't often to complain about him or his teams but..

it's annoying how his teams just collapse during winnable road games. They always have a five minute lapse in the second half and that is often the difference in the game.

Back to the NIT..because this conference sucks.
 
Hell of a choke by the Hokies. Up 9 at the half and lost by 8.
 
Refs trying their best to keep Clemson in this game. Clemson averages 16 fouls per game, yet they've only been whistled for 4 midway though the 2nd half, while UVa averages 13 fouls per game and they are at 10.

Outside of football, SEC schools are boring and generic tbh. Just a bunch of lifeless state schools.

But yeah, the league sucks right now.

Yeah, I'm generally indifferent watching an SEC game in football or basketball. I tend to care a little more if UK is playing and losing, but man nothing was better than early to mid 2000's ACC. The 4 NC schools, MD, GT had good teams, so did BC in the early years. League was so deep. Now it seems that has shifted to the SEC, but doesn't have the same feeling. That ACCT just hit different back then.
 
For example 20 years ago NC State/GT is a great game. Now just so meh.

I don't get why those two schools can't get going. GT has made poor hire after poor hire and the media did a legit hit job on NC State after Sendek left.

Agreed. Between 1985 and 2005 GT was probably a top 20 program. Cremins had that going really well. Still don't understand why he retired. He was only in his early 50's. Same with NC State. It's crazy looking back that Gottfried did somewhat decent there. Lol.
