Here's my casual reminder that ACC refs are fucking awful.
 
GT is down to #140 in NET, so Deacs lost a Q2 win. With the way Florida + Virginia are surging, there is a possibility that they can pick up two Q1 wins there, lol. lovely system.

either way, Deacs are in if they can defend their homecourt and beat Duke, Pitt + Clemson.

Didn't bother watching the game last night. It's a waste of time when you play at Cameron. Both Reid and Carr fouled out, lmao. League should probably step in at some point, but they won't.

GD Pitt couldn't miss from 3 tonight. Most 3s UVa has gave up in Cville in like 25 years. UNC loss takes some of the sting away.

Christ UVA. Dropped 12 spots in KenPom after that one, which is tough to do this late in the season.

Vegas knew. We are not a good team (THE definition of mid) and the line today was like -4.5 at noon when I checked. They definitely knew that UVA turd was coming and cleaned up on people taking a ranked team getting points
 
Uva shooting like 30% definitely wasn't going to win the game, but it doesn't help when the refs call 2 fouls against the home team in the first half when they average 16 per game. They let VT play their style of ball, but not UVa.
 
Just to show I'm not just blindly complaining about the officiating.
UVA has been called for 40 more fouls than their opponents in the last 8 games.
3 of those teams were whistled for 6 fouls or fewer the entire game.
Notre Dame- 6 fouls, yet they average 15
Miami- 6 fouls, yet they average 13
VT- 6 fouls, yet they average 16
A Tony Bennett led team had never had a single opponent have 6 fouls or fewer prior to this season. 462 games.

UVa is 361st out of 362 teams for fouls by opponent at 13 per game. I'm not sure what has changed, but the refs just seems to really be swallowing the whistle against UVa opponents.
