TV Series The Bear

I suppose but I also want to see a sort of redemption arch. The dude gets shit on so much that it would be nice to see him get something that brings him joy despite his hard headed personality.

that was something about the Christmas episode I liked...he was in love and happy and trying...then he got shit on and it all fell apart...and it likely was his own fault.

but that is also how this family is...they can't get out of their own way. Carm giving the chick a fake number, the mom being a complete mess...the fucking fork.
I took his arch in that episode differently. I saw it as even when he was doing well, he was swimming in waters that were too deep for him.

He was lying to his wife. He was getting in bed with bad people (even if that person was family). He is a gambler who moves all in every hand.

Prototypical self destruction.

Will never understand the love affair people have with this show. Watched both seasons and nothing about the show was special or giving me any desire to watch whenever the new season comes out.

Different strokes. I won’t try to convince you if you have watched it and decided that you don’t like it. Nothing “clicks” with everyone.

Fine, you are dismissed

Announced S3 for June.

Best thing about this show. Its the only fucking show out there still capable of releasing their seasons on a consistent yearly schedule.

is it only streaming on Disney+?

for some reason I saw somewhere that it was on Disney+ and that some streaming services were sharing hit shows to get people to subscribe...which is BS

Disney owns Hulu, they have packages that include both, hell, they make you sign in with a disney account now.

Hearing a lot of this. I'm only through 3 episodes. Really enjoyed the 3rd one.
The show is still good, don’t get me wrong. I am just applying a VERY high bar to the grading system.

I will hold off on my spoiler reviews until more posters are caught up.

Season 3 was still very good, but the finale was wack. Cut if off too soon. Felt like there should have been another episode or something

it was definitely a downgrade from last year which had so many memorable episodes. this season felt like a lot of filler and even filler in said episodes. I like Ricky Jay as much as the next guy, I don't need to watch 5 minutes of Deceptive Practices: The Mysteries and Mentors of Ricky Jay in an episode.

With how the last season ended, I don't think they really moved the story forward at all. I will say, was glad to have Joel McHale in the last episode, I always wondered to myself if he was real and or how he was in Carmy's mind was real and not just how he looked at himself.

I don’t think they are going there with that character. This just isnt the type of show to pull that kind of psychological twist.

But that said, nothing we have seen eliminates that from being the case. The conversation they had was in private. The other people at the table never referenced him by name (neither did he when talking about him).

The whole season was just a filler season. So very aggravating. I don’t know why they decided to basically just throw the whole season away like that. So confusing.

The season should have ended with the results of the review (either way). Also, his partner should have decided to leave. So basically, the review comes in, the Bear is forced to close due to financial complications, and the partnership will appear to be over. That would set up S4 for a lot to clean up.

Also, do something address the absolutely contrived shit Carm was placed in after the walk-in incident. Why he had to eat shit from his girlfriend for venting in a stressful situation when he didn’t even know she was there is beyond me. And then Richie chose that situation to bow up on Carm? Richie is a self destructive imbicile, so I can somewhat buy that, but then to go an entire season of NOTHING and not even think of applying any resolution to that story?

What a waste of a season…
