 Axel is so old, now, that they had to paint the movie poster to make it look like he's still the same guy.

Hopefully this turns out better than Coming to America two

I couldn’t even finish that pile of dog crap. I rarely bail on movies mid-way, but I had no choice on that one.
Same here. It was not funny at all. It was awful. I had to turn it off and I usually finish movies.

Eddie Murphy is 62 years old now. If they have him pulling the same type of "hotshot detective" shit he was doing back in 1984 this is going to be as cringe-inducing as Tom Cruise pulling "hotshot pilot" shit in that newest Top Gun farce.

If Eddie is the grumpy old "Inspector Todd"-like character dealing with the same young hotshot punk detective he used to be, I might give it a chance.
Looks like you got a mix

Any word on his herpes simplex 10 or the banana in the tailpipe?
The herpes simplex scene in the original was hilarious but they can't do that anymore. Might offend some people. There wasn't anything like that in this movie

Not a horrible movie. Not a great movie. It certainly was not as bad as Coming 2 America.

I actually literally LOLed at the dig at BHC 3.
I completely agree. Movie was ok. My girlfriend liked it more than I did. Part of what made it funny back then Hollywood and Netflix will no longer allow. Compared to the original, they put more emphasis on the car chases then the comedy scenes.

I wasn’t a huge fan of the cold open. His driving through the city, knowing EVERYONE by name and personality was soooo trope. And the chase scene was just a bad remake of the first movie.

Not a “turn it off” start by any means, but I was certainly rolling my eyes.

Yeah, if you liked that new Top Gun sequel, you'll probably like this too. It's a shame your movie standards have sunk so low. I'll get Matthew Broderick on the phone and tell him to make a Ferris Bueller sequel where he's still a high school student, too.

Michael Keaton as "Mr. Grandma"

Didn't love it nor did I hate it. It was so fucking obvious that Kevin Bacon was the villain as soon as he was shown on screen.

Were we not supposed to know that right away?

3/10
Crappy plot. Actors look terrible.

2020's movies f'n suck, though. All thought and creativity has been sucked out of Hollywood and we're left with recycled ideas from the 80's.
disagree.

there is plenty of original ideas coming out you just don't want to give them credit
