This morning I was chatting with one of the mothers at our daughters basketball tournament in Alvin today. She teaches at Hitchcock.. She is also a UT alumnus.. I told her about this kid and she was like oh he's one of my students and his mom is a friend.
$100k is a hell of a deal for a speedy route runner. This morning I was chatting with one of the mothers at our daughters basketball tournament in Alvin today. She teaches at Hitchcock.. I joked about him choosing aggy over us and she was like me too.. But she said aggy offered him 100k to sign there.. SC was #2 but didn't visit there late because they wouldn't beat the amount aggy offered. $100k and mom blessed it because she's still in nursing school, will help her pay for it.
This is what I love about NIL, some of these deals really do help out the families.. Can't knock him for taking it.
He's not a highly ranked guy, obviously, but DL and OL often 300+ and have to develop. The number of OL ready to play right out of high school without having to develop their bodies are few and far between.
he's a playmaker.. he honestly is Xavier Worthy.. he is faster than what his track times are (which is still FAST).. He plays basketball for them and they have won the past two state titles.. so by the time he hits track, the season is already half way done.. so he has yet to complete a full uninterrupted season on the track.$100k is a hell of a deal for a speedy route runner.
No I get it.. and he's still raw.. if you look at his HUDL.. his stance is too high and his hand placement is off.. but there is no denying his first step.. and his size is verified. He's not a highly ranked guy, obviously, but DL and OL often 300+ and have to develop. *update Brooks won't be playing his Sr season of HSFB in Iowa.. he is transferring to a school in Atlanta.. Sounds like someone hooked the family up down thereNo I get it.. and he's still raw.. if you look at his HUDL.. his stance is too high and his hand placement is off.. but there is no denying his first step.. and his size is verified.
Wish there was a way we could have kept Brandon Brown in the fold.. he would have been the perfect compliment to Sharma along the DL.. I think Sharma plays as a true freshman but off a 3 or 4 man rotation at NT.
I agree about OL too.. BTW, what are your guys telling you about Nick Brooks the OT? Our guys keep saying we are in a good spot with UGA trailing.. Think they are trying to slowly brace ourselves for Fasusi not picking us next month (most likely ou).. So not sure if they are saying the Brooks thing to give us hope at OT this cycle
Yeah, well that didn't work out so well with Raiola, now did it? Keep his ass out in Iowa.*update Brooks won't be playing his Sr season of HSFB in Iowa.. he is transferring to a school in Atlanta.. Sounds like someone hooked the family up down there
Nice move @WhosYourDawggy
Look, DL and OL are harder to predict. We are about to take a guy who isn't even listed in the 247 Composite. He's from Germany, played for 2 years in Cali. But he camped for all the top teams and has the following offer list:
Bama, Oregon, Texas, UCLA, ATM, and others. Big time development guy. 6-5, 280 with a soccer and basketball background until he kept growing.
But, when we get him many will point at the fact he isn't even listed in the Composite.

is that what your $9.95ers are saying? Kinda odd when numbers don't matter anymore.. unless the budget is almost full?OU is almost full. Sitting at 22 so gotta be selective on the last couple.
I mean we are 3 deep at every position except OL. I can't see adding guys just to add guys.is that what your $9.95ers are saying? Kinda odd when numbers don't matter anymore.. unless the budget is almost full?
Could be ... we lose 15 every year. DL and OL mostly redshirt first year, and then spend at least 2-3 years trying to win a spot before transferring.wonder if he's your sydir mitchell project.. i think he transfers come December (Sydir not this kid)
