Realignment (again) 2024-2026

depends on what it looks like if it survives. do they get the same if they lose 2? 4? and who? different if they lose FSU, Clemson, Miami than if they lost VT, NC and Duke.
Still going to be more than the PAC and that's not arguable. Geographically the conference is worth more being on the east coast. VT, UNC, NCSU, Duke, Miami >>>>> any combination of PAC schools.

Tulane would have to want schools near them.. having the current schools out west/northwest isn't that great for them.. but if you add a UTSA/TX st or Rice.. it gets easier..

UTSA is the real sleeper, that school is merging with UT Health San Antonio which means it's going to be bringing in money as a school
I would think that would bring in a ton of research dollars. I was under the impression that UTSA and Texas State were 3rd and 4th. But UNT, Houston and UTA are larger.

Been reading where both A&M and UT are going to taking fewer.

Enrollment at Texas state universities

Texas A&M - 77,491
Texas - 53,082
North Texas - 46,940
Houston - 46,676
UT Arlington - 41,376
Texas Tech - 40,127
Texas State - 38,759
UTSA - 34,864
UTRGV - 31,596
UT Dallas - 30,846
UTEP - 24,351

have seen a lot of New Mexico State and UTEP will look to try to get in to the MWC.
On one hand CUSA isnt a bad fit but as it stands they make probably the least among all conferences and the travel cost isnt any less. CUSA expansion is pretty much just bringing up FCS schools but also pushing east. Sure Missouri state isnt too far but other adds like Liberty and Delaware are farther away. so watch for these 2 to push for MWC admission.
Selfishly, I want the AAC and Conference USA to raid the rest of the conference.

No way Cal and Stanford come back. Why would they leave a current P4 for a Group of 6? Plus the GOR issue. Plus the fact that the 30% share only applies for the next seven years. They have to think long term and it would be dumb if not nearly impossible anyway to go backwards.
Good, they should not be welcomed back ever.

without football they are an afterthought right now. besides basketball i dont know that anyone ever thinks much about them. the university or any other sports. and I live in Washington
Gonzaga is honestly the best get the Pac could possibly hope for. Sure they don’t have football but building the best west coast conference (outside of Arizona) is very similar to trying to build the best non power football conference.

And not sure what it takes to change their school names or if they are taken but can Memphis and Tulane change their name to state. I really want the Pac 12 to get a huge sponsorship from All State.

Memphis used to be called Memphis State, until like the mid 90's or so.

1. Cal and Stanford would have the same GOR problems FSU and Clemson have.
2. They get a lot more money from the ACC that the PAC. A lot more.
3. The Olympic Sports are way, way better in the ACC.
Yeah, I had forgotten about the GoR and how elitest douchebags Cal and Stanford are. They allegedly told the B12 no because of certain schools academia. (I truthfully don't know if they were even offered) So it's very doubtful they are joining a conference with Boise and Fresno. Regardless of how much better the travel is in it.

once the merger is official UTSA numbers are going to explode.. my only gripe with that place is that the astrodome is far from the actual campus

Alamodome. Yeah, not having a campus stadium sucks.

Astrodome? Yeah, that is far from the actual campus.

I would like to see Idaho come back to FBS

They're in a conference now with SMU, so...

SMU is in the top 100 of national universities.

BSU isn’t in the top 300.

Is this serious right now?

Byu, tcu schools were rejected by the pac for religious reasons.

Are you serious?

My comment was quite clearly about academic universities. Nothing in that mentioned religious reasons.

Boise St is not a religious university.

You are fucking retarded Oscar.

They are more than happy to stay at FCS. I’m also curious if the Montana and Dakota schools have any interest in moving up.
