No one at OU thought Jackson Arnold is better than DG. The problem is OU made a promise to JA that he would be the starter this year if he signed with Oklahoma. It was a promise that should not have been made. It put OU in an impossible situation with DG obviously feeling pressure to move on down the road. If DG had decided to stay, OU would have had a pissed off second teamer just waiting to transfer after the season ended because OU had not kept its promise. The lesson to be learned by every school is DO NOT make promises like that. It was a coaching mistake.

yeah and seeing Hawkins now.. like he seems to be really promising too
 
If Dillon Gabriel was still at OU we would be in the hunt for a SEC championship. With Jackson Arnold at OU we are in the hunt for an Alamo Bowl slot.

But this year is setting us up for the future. OU will have JFA for 1 or 2 more years and battle tested. What texas is doing with Arch they get him for 1 year next year pretty much unproven then he's gone.

future? you mean the circus next year when Hawkins is clearly better but you guaranteed Arnold's purse that you gotta trot him out.. (with another year rebuilding along the OL)

Gilbert was a horrible pickup by Mack.. he turned away Andrew Luck SMH

but look at the rest of the list..Tate Martell, JT Daniels.. Shoot even Dart.. I'm glad you brought up Kyler..perhaps when Arnold leaves ou, he will flourish elsewhere? LOL
