I thought we had a "fuck Bikers" thread.

In the end the responsibility falls to the cyclist. Sure with this video the biker could go to the police and the driver would get a failure to signal ticket. The biker would get a failure to maintain safe distance ticket.

But...the cyclist is the one that has to anticipate the bad driving of all those around him. Same as motorcycle drivers and even car drivers. Can't even count the number of accidents I've avoided because <knock on wood> I was paying attention to my surroundings and avoided the bad drivers. There are a lot of cyclists in the cemetery who were completely in the right. Think "right of way" matters to them?

Yep. One of the first things I learned from Drivers Ed at school and from my dad was to be a "Defensive Driver". Always try to anticipate what other drivers are going to do.

I've had two accidents in 46 years of driving.

One was 32 years ago and that was because the other driver ran a red light and T-boned me.
The other driver was deaf. He was looking at his passenger who was communicating with him via sign language. I was first car out into the intersection on a green arrow thought to myself "Shit he's not paying attention and not gonna stop".
The guy in the passenger seat pointed up at the light to the driver, but it was too late.

The 2nd one was just last year in Omaha. Younger guy (early - mid 20's) rear-ended me when I was stopped at a red light. He was hauling ass and his skid marks were only about 4 ft long so he blasted me pretty good.
He claims the sun was in his eyes (possible as it was early evening and setting). However, most people think he was looking at his phone.

If I'm on the bike I'm smart enough to know that I can only brake with my hands and I'm not throwing them up in the air, for the reason we see here.

If the cyclist wasn't trying to be so demonstrative he easily stops in time.
I disagree...he puts his hand on the back of the car and is using the car to slow him to the car's speed.

I think you need to watch the video closer. At the 4 second mark there are no brake lights and his right hand is off the brake handle. If he weren't trying to motion to the driver or do whatever he was doing he stops in plenty of time.

His brake is there to slow, not the cars around him.

After all the dumb shit everyone sees on a daily bases driving around in their car, these people have shit for brains to cycle in traffic.

I think horses have the 'right of way' also.

you're right...I thought he was putting his hand on the cars trunk to slow his speed

I think he was giving a "come on" hands up gesture like I always do. But I'm in a car and still have full control of the brakes when I do it.

This has gone viral and is a very common occurrence, cars and bikes don't mix well. I hate bicyclists with a passion, even though I do bike occasionally. You'd never catch me on a road though because car drivers suck too.

This... I kind of get the bicyclist riding in main-street traffic because he's got a backpack and regular clothes like he's possibly riding his bike to work. Apparently there was no bicycle lane like a lot of cities have installed through the years.

Omaha has over 120 miles of bike trails for exercise and leisure. It's guys like this who refuse to use them and opt to ride down narrow roads (with no shoulder) that piss me off.
Judging by his apparel he was obviously joy riding or riding for exercise.
Get on a bike trail for that, you spandex faggot.

fuck that

share the road.

fuck that

share the road.
If "share the road" actually meant "share the road" then I'd be all for it. But no, fuck those tour-de-douche looking dickholes like that guy. Guarantee he is the same old fuckwad who screams "we have just as much right to the road" as he is ignoring all the inconvenient laws of the road. We have a 4 way stop just outside our development on a straight but hilly road. During spring/fall I'd say at least once a week I'll have some knob blow through the stop sign because "getting back up to speed is hard". So you pass them with plenty of room then while sitting in line at the stop sign they fly by you on the side and then shoot across the intersection.

"share the road"? Nah, but you can have this middle finger free.

I like splashing cyclists with my wind-shield wiper fluid.

I pretend like it’s a coincidence.
lol, hadn't tried that with cyclists. I use that when someone is riding my ass.

Not until I can drive my car on bike paths.

Plus, we invented Pelaton for this problem. Go ride your bike inside.

I think his reaction was shitty but I don't think he did anything wrong while he was riding.

why would you want to drive you car on bike paths?

that's nice of you to give them a free windshield cleaning

Neither did the car driver. The only person in this entire interaction to do anything wrong was the biker. He was out looking for an argument. His name is Peacock for gods sake, he's a drama craver.

I assume assholes that tailgate don't refill their washer fluid. So they just get a light spray from me, enough to smear their windshield :suds:

Are you kidding? I'd love to go slaloming down a bike path. No room for error, switchbacks every so often. that would be fun!

he was a Karen...most cyclists I have encountered are fine...just like most drivers I encounter are fine.
