2024 NLCS LA Dodgers VS the NY Mets

Any day now, Mets offense

Casparius? Dodgers are just trolling with who they're playing now, right?

Well that wasn't much of an effort

No matter what happens, proud of this Mets team, which is not something I can often say. That said, wouldn't be surprised to see them win three in a row. Anything can happen in baseball.

That would be incredible, and not something I ever would have expected from a Mets team, either. But the comeback machine has been sputtering in games 1 and 3, so maybe the magic is over. Not a good time for a cold streak.

At least they killed the Phillies.

Stop being scared of Ohtani! He's 0 for 3 today

Weird stat of the day.

Ohtani is 0 for his last 20 on at bats with no one on base.

He's 17 for his last 20 on at bats with runners on base.

Yeah, I saw that flashed a couple of times in the series. Surely the Mets are aware of it. If there's no one on, go after him.

They pitched around Harper in the LCS, too, but it was Castellanos who hurt them the most.

To have been shut out twice by Dodgers pitching is embarrassing. DODGERS PITCHING!

To be fair, the problem with the Dodgers pitching has been that it's been decimated by injuries. Going into the season, it looked like pitching would be a strength.

They've gotten a couple of guys back. Yamamoto had struggled a bit until his start in game 1 and last night was the first time Walker Buehler looked like Walker Buehler since before his injuries.

If the Dodgers can get a good 5 innings out of their starters, they should be ok. They've had to rely on their bullpen so much that they could wear them out if this series goes 7 like I think it will.

They pointed out last night that Roberts is intentionally avoiding using the same relievers, so the Mets don't see the same guys and start hitting them. That can only last for so long but it seems to be working for now.

Yeah, it's working for now because the 3 games haven't really been close, so they have been able to use guys like Casparius in later innings instead of one of their top relievers.

He knows there will be a 1 or 2 run game where he has to go exclusively with his top guys and the more a hitter sees a pitcher, the easier it gets to know what's coming. Smart strategy if he can pull it off.

I don't believe the Mets strategy of scoring only in even-numbered games is going to work out.

Ohtani's hot. At least he was leadoff

Dadgum hulu is freaking out

Well that's about it. Nice run, Mets.

Gonna be dodgers and Yankees again

Looks that way.

But 3-1 comeback is possible in baseball, so don't count it out.

Too many walks by Mets pitchers

If there's any silver lining, it's that with the offense cold, the bad pitcing don't matter because they were gonna lose those 3 games anyway. Hopefully they can flip a switch.
