2025 Recruiting Thread

Man, commits are leaving Southern Cal like it's infected with a serious case of the clap.
This has been known for months. This guy has been dropping in the rankings, and many schools moved on from him - UGA, Auburn, and others. He has a "handler" uncle who is not well-liked. Deon is the type of guy who would put up with him. All that said, the kid can ball. He is leading his team to a state title in Georgia.

Fuck NIL. You can have a guy committed for months and because Michigan is pathetic and desperate they heave all their NIL at this kid to get him to flip last minute. We got 2 other 5* committed on the OL but this is bullshit

…and now you know why St. Nick didn’t want to play ball no more.

Yeah of course I don't want a 5-5 team in the CFP, that's not the point. The Colorado method of going portal crazy might work for a season in a shit conference like they're in, but there isn't a single real contender that can win like that consistently.
Might not work consistently, but it has worked well for Indiana. Unless their previous coach left them more stocked than I think.

I think considerable usage of the transfer portal is the only shot for teams that go toe to toe with the deep pocket biggies in the recruiting and NIL world. Still may not be enough to overcome those types consistently but it does give them at least shot.

I don't disagree, but the ACC and Big 12 need to get their shit together. Teams like Clemson, Oklahoma State, Florida State, Utah, TCU, etc. aren't doing their conferences any favors by playing well below their potential this year.
Very true. Utah and Oklahoma State are nearly as disastrous as FSU.

But this year Michigan and USC haven’t helped the BIG either. In fact, all but four teams in the B1G haven’t helped the cause at all. Those need to step up too.

I’m going to put OU in that group too. The state of Oklahoma hasn’t had a good year in football.

I think most people expected Michigan to take quite a step back, I still thought they'd grind out 8 or maybe 9 wins though with their schedule. They are lucky they are probably gonna get to 6 though in the end. Offense ended up being a way bigger mess than expected, thought they'd still be at least a decent running team but the run game fell off a cliff as well. That and the defense took a big step back, injuries have really exposed their complete lack of depth.

USC seems to always get overhyped preseason, but yea they've also been worse than I thought they'd end up.

Nobody compares to FSU though when it comes to complete disaster.

I think Cignetti could really boost recruiting there. The Midwest usually has a lot of talent and it goes anywhere but Indiana, but if he can keep it up they could actually have something there

What are the chances Underwood actually signs with Michigan? This feels like a situation where the kid flips again at the last minute. Has never seemed like he actually wants to be at Michigan. Unless they just came up with enough money where he couldn't say no,

Isn’t his family all from Michigan?

I watched Cass Tech live last week which has a couple D1 commits including Alex Graham, a WR/CB. Kid was incredible and had the winning TD catch.

We've seen plenty of talented kids leave Ohio over the years because they wanted to be away.

Ohio though.

Once you’ve been to the water parks a few times you get over it.

Please Michigan is not any better

Great Lakes, outdoor water winter wonderland. It’s in our license plates.

Weather wise no different and you have better roads.

The funniest shit is gonna be the Michigan fans who will still try to claim this has absolutely nothing to do with them handing this kid a blank check basically. Because "they don't do that!"
This kid doesn't give a shit about some winter wonderland, he's from the state. He got a blank check, that's obvious.

Cracks me up anyone acting like Moore or any other coach had anything to do with this. Just call it what it is a pure $$$ win, which is fine that's the game now a days, but don't go around acting like the coaches pulled some great feat to get him.
