Michigan was fucking around with our QB position for over half the season. That probably cost us both the Washington and Illinois games. We really don't know about Moore as a developer. We certainly got lucky with USC and Minnesota got luckier earlier in that game and shouldn't have even been in position to get screwed by the call, but irrelevant to the fact that had they not called that penalty it still should have been Michigan's ball.
Record wise, sure we could have lost more games as well but in terms of the actual product on the field I think this is about as bad as it gets. But next year our schedule, on paper, is easier. So even if the team doesn't improve, I think the record is likely to improve next year just because of the schedule. As I see it:
Home
New Mexico - W
CMU - W
Purdue - W
Washington - Toss up but lean W
Wisconsin - Toss up but lean W
Ohio State - Lean L
Away
Oklahoma - Toss up lean L
Maryland - W
MSU - W
Nebraska - Toss up but lean L
Northwestern - W
USC - Toss up but lean W
So on paper, I thin 9-3 is super attainable next year with 6-6 being kind of a worst case again.
