Most Deserving Champions Ever - Ohio State Buckeyes 2024

I'm already kinda tired of the "most deserving" thing. If you win the tourney, you're the most deserving by default.

Have the same feeling as I did in 2014 when Ohio State had to go through 1 seed Bama then Oregon en route to the natty. Its a massive accomplishment and feels that much sweeter when you have to go through the most difficult path to get there.

I'm pretty sure we're the first team in CFB history to beat every other top 5 team in the final AP poll, as well as 6 of the final top 10. Likewise in 2014, we were one of very few teams to ever have three top 5 wins in the final AP poll. That's pretty impressive.

Gauntlet of a season when you consider regular season and post season. No question about it.

Any team that wins 3-4 playoff games in a row is more deserving than a team that was voted in for sure. And more than the BCS that won one and first CFP of two imo. Some disagree but tOSU was definitely the most deserving.

I think what irks me is that the statement indicates that previous national champs were somehow less deserving. Really can only make the case of someone being less deserving when we had the old bowl season or when some clearly great team was left out of the BCS format. We got it this year and that's good enough for me. Don't need to compare this accomplishment to anyone else's from previous years.

Bucks were most deserving this year. Next years champ will be the most deserving next year.

I do like the trend of Ohio State winning it every time they change up the format tho. Hopefully we can mix in a few between format changes too.

You’d understand if you had a real rival. As the champions of the national champions, it’s our duty to hold them in check. Which is easy to do.

Woulda been the first BCS champion too if cooper didn't cooper against Michigan State

I mean i've seen the same thing everywhere. Just feels cringey to me.

But fuck it, when you win you get to strut around for the rest of the year until you're no longer champs...and if you win back to back, well now we're talking about strutting to incomprehensible magnitudes.
