I agreed with you above ... that makes no sense to me ... why can't the parent company tell one company to let the other cover it, especially if it gives better coverage? It turns out ABC wasn't available, as they had to cover the inauguration.

I was under the impression that they were all exclusive for ESPN.

Maybe they wanted to see how it goes. Gotta imagine you miss out on millions of viewers having it on a channel that requires cable or a higher streaming subscription like YTV, Fubo, etc

You can thank the legacy cable providers for this. It's no coincidence this is happening with the rise of cord-cutting. MFers decided to jack up costs to well over $200 and people got sick of it. If you count the illegal streams, I'm sure it wouldn't be that big of a difference from back in the 2010s.

I doubt that. Clearly more than it was on ESPN. But 30+ million would be 5 million more than the most watched NC in the past. I don't see that happening with the inauguration, MLK Day, and the general loss of interest due to the late date of the game.
