Huff? Huff?!?
I like Josh Sweat. He had a great Suoer Bowl and I'll always be a fan as a result. But the Eagles have already seen the beat of of Jpsh Sweat and his knee is a ticking time bomb. In that Super Bowl and late in the season we already started to see the emergence od his replacement, Jalyx Hunt.
Williams honestly isn't much of a loss. I wpuld have been upset if we pais him to bring him back. He got a massive deal from the Patriots despite never facing souvle teams. Any DT that plays next to Jalen Carter will be setup to feast. Ojomo who will likely replace Williams has as good, if not better pass rush win rates than Williams had. Jordan Davis had two huge sacks in the NFC Championship Game and Super Bowl and Ty Robinson is also looking like a great pick. Williams signing that massive deal is a benefit to the Eagles since they will get a 3rd round comp and they can easily replace him.
The best players in our secondary last year qere Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean and they should only get better in year 2. Slay was good for us but was constantly try leaving the field for long stretches. Rodgers filled in for him nicely but was always heavily targeted the moment he would come in for Slay. I'm excited to see Ringo get his chances. Slay is somwthing like 34 at this point. DeJean is the best pickle corner in the league and I think Quinyon will have a strong chance at defensive player of the year this season. Reed Blankenship has been great at safety and I expect him to be locked up in a new deal before the season. CJGJ is the only potential impact loss for the Eagles this year. As said, we have Justin Simmons lined up wanting to play for the Eagles if we need help st Safety.
