2021 Recruiting Thread

I heard OU's composite rating is #2 when you consider the numbers. Lots of defensive talent too. Headed in the right direction.
3 of the top 10 WDE's. A Power Forward 4 star on the other side. Really like the D-line haul.

Well. Seems like more good news for Michigan. We held Bama off for our last top offensive commit of the day, Xavier Worthy signed with us moments ago. Looks like this is how the class is going to finish for the day. But overall pretty darn good considering all that's been going on with Harbaugh:

With JJ McCarthy (22), Donovan Edwards (44), Xavier Worthy (76), Giovanni El-Hadi (85) and Junior Colson (95) now officially part of the class, Michigan has signed more top-100 signees in this class (5) than it did in its previous three classes combined (3).

So what your saying is you have a 5 star QB, a 4 star RB, a 4 star WR and a 4 star OL? Pretty much what Michigan had last year, only the guys had experience.

But of a disappointment for UGA so far. Sorey committed, but we had a 4 star flip to Jackson State and haven’t flipped anyone. Still sitting at 20 commits. All 20 have signed, so we have that going for us

Bama flips 2 4* from LSU today. DE Keanu Koht and WR JoJo Earle.

Maybe Sabans best class ever

Alabama signed 4 of the top 9 recievers.

WRU!!!

Wait, you are allowed to flip recruits?!?!? Why did no one tell Dantonio this?

Only position groups OSU doesn't have someone is TE, OT, C, and OLB.

Michigan taking a beating

Lose 4* LB Branden Jennings to Maryland and 4* DE Quintin Somerville to UCLA

Looks like they may lose their only CB commit to Miami later as well.
No surprise ... as I said before, this is going to be flip city today, and UM did themselves no favors with their coaching Limbo.

That's actually more than I would think. We, too, have all but 4 and I am not happy about that. Alabama has 4, too. Maybe not so bad. I am thinking it's cyclical. Clemson is 5. Ok, 4 is good, LOL.

I guess that's true, but at least you guys had a decent track record in the 90's and early 2000's. I mean for real, not one RB drafted since that douchebag Mike Hart?
Haven’t thought about that midget in years. Had a Michigan guy that used to argue with me he was better than Adrian Peterson. Good times good times

I think the bigger problem, with this class at least. They got the offensive players. But only 2 defensive players rated in the top 300 nationally.

Hard to build a serious contender that way. Those offensive players can all pan out but unless they found some major diamonds in the rough its going to be tough sledding stopping good teams.

4-star OLB Ma'a Gaoteote out of Nevada has flipped from USC to Michigan State.

Ma'a Gaoteote, Bishop Gorman , Outside Linebacker

Oh, for sure. Defense was a huge miss in this class. But, paired with last year I think it's mostly fine (outside of DT). Last year's class had some OK offensive recruits but was mostly defensive recruits. 9 defensive recruits in the top 300, including 5 DB's. They just clearly weren't ready to see the field this year. Honestly, I think part of our problem this year (beyond bad defensive coaches) was that we're seeing the hole the 2018 class left us in; ranked 22nd nationally, only had 7 four star players, no five star players, no top 100 players.

We'll see how this finishes. Harbaugh alluded to getting some more DB and DT help in this class; which may end up being through the portal. At this point DT seems like the biggest issue. We're relying on our two highly rated DT's from 2019 to pan out.

Someone on 247 actually posted this running roster update, which illustrates that the roster is actually pretty balanced; makes sense why they went more heavily offense this class. Given the amount of OT we have, I could see them flipping some of those guys to defense.

Also, Michigan is still going hard for two DT's -- hopefully we get at least one.

They might get Benny, Rooks seems like hes a big Penn State lean at this point from what ive seen. Guess that could change there.

Not much realistically out there in terms of DB. Outside of maybe the transfer portal.

Gonna be a lot hinging on the 22 class. Theres 2 nice DBs in the state of Michigan. Will Johnson is a 5* CB, thats going to be a Ohio State and Michigan battle. Myles Roser is a top 10 safety too. Theres also 2 solid 4* OLB in state. Theyd be smart to put a lot into those good in state defensive players and keep them home

6 Programs have won a CFP playoff game. Those teams are currently ranked 1-6 in the recruiting rankings
