So.
I just learned my oldest nephew's girlfriend, a girl he's been with since high school and with whom he lives, is telling everyone she wants to be referred to not as she/her but as they/them.
W.T.F???
I've not said anything about the whole pronoun thing, mostly just thinking it's a thing with people who are ... confused about some things. I don't say that to discount it, there are people who are confused about their sexuality, etc ... Just because I don't understand it doesn't mean I'm going to condemn it ... except, why the hell would someone who was born female, identifies as female, and is heterosexual want to be called something other than she or her??? Is it just for attention? Just to see if she can get people to go along with it?
While I do try to not be the militant grammarian I sometimes want to be, I think the part that bothers me the most is ...
It's a fucking plural pronoun!!!
She is one person ... singular, not fucking plural!!!
