I've watched maybe 2 cfb football games this year so I have no clue. Aside from Mac Jones and Trevor Lawrence I don't even know what position those other guys play.

Lawrence or Trask should win it. Their offenses are shit without them.

But it will be a Gump for sure.

Devonta Smith should and will win it. But those who think Mac Jones is only doing this because of talent around him clearly hasn’t watched him and are foolish. Dude drops DIMES all over the field and play smart.

It might not be totally fair but the winner of the Heisman and the National Championship in this F'd up COVID season are forever going to have an asterisk beside their name in the minds of college football fans.

I disagree. The Champion this year would have played 13P5 games. Only 1 other teams has done that in college Football history...2018 Clemson. I think whoever wins the National Title this year would be among the most deserving. Unless Ohio State wins

And he has 2 other Heisman contenders to distract the defenses. Move him to the Gators offense and he ain't all that.

So does OU's 2020 Big Xii Title have an *sterisk, especially since they lost @ Iowa State, didn't play @ West Virginia and still have a lesser conference record (7-2) than Iowa State (8-2)?

Cool.

So did Troy Davis deserve the 1996 Heisman over Danny Wuerrfel since DW played on the best Florida team of all-time with NFL talent all over the place, and Troy Davis (The FIRST and ONLY player with back to back 2,000 seasons in an 11 game schedule) played on a much less talented Iowa State team?

FTR, I saw both players in person that year, and they were both awesome; however, if playing around better talent should count against a Heisman candidate, TD should have won in 1996 by a country mile!

Alabama has an incredible running game. Florida is 1 dimensional.

That's true. What about 1996? Iowa State was one dimensional too. Run, Troy, Run against 8 and 9 man fronts all year. DW doesn't win the Heisman with the ISU receivers, etc. that season, so does that lessen what he did to win the Heisman due to the NFL receivers, etc. he had on that 1996 Gator team?

Just pointing out that it works both ways. GREAT players should NOT be penalized for playing with other GREAT players. Mac Jones still has to be GREAT to do what he did this year. If you think he doesn't deserve it due to the eye candy, then maybe the eye candy deserves it?

I think Najee Harris got screwed. Over 1200 yards on the ground with 27 TDs(3 receiving) accounted for.

JT Daniels could be getting some attention if Kirby would have just played him when he was cleared to play in week 2.

Meh. Not even the leading rusher in the country and all of that eye candy around him! lol. That other guy in the All-American Backfield with him (Breece Hall) led FBS with 1,436 yards rushing + 170 receiving and 21 TDs (19 and 2) ain't bad either and finished #6 in the Heisman vote. Not a bad RB tandem in the backfield actually!

For some people, yes. But it'll go away with time. This season will always be known as the COVID season; it's just natural it will stick in people's minds but the "asterisk" will fade away as we go through other seasons and this season starts to slowly blend in with all the others.

I do think it is hit an miss though. I don't think the teams that played a full schedule need to apologize for anything. No *sterisk to me for OU winning the Big Xii (the @ WVU game was irrelevant), Alabama winning the SEC (in a 10 game conference schedule) or Clemson winning the ACC (in a 10 game conference schedule with ND added to boot), as they all 3 did the same (OU) or more (Alabama and Clemson) than they would need to do in a given year. Same for Alabama or Clemson if they win the CFP. Well earned and deserved with no *sterisk in my book. However, there is a B1G fat *sterisk next to Ohio State's B1G Championship and / or CFP Championship (if they win it). BTW, good luck to OU in the Cotton Bowl! I hope The Big Xii is 2-0 in the NY6 this year. We need the good press heading into 2021! :)

Bullshit. Ever since Waddle went down everybody has tried to double Smitty and they still haven’t stopped him. He is the only guy that has abused Stingley in B2B years.

Our reciever core isn’t great once you get past Smitty. Metchie is decent but not great and LOL at Slade Bolden. Florida has a better receiving core than Alabama.
Fortunately for us we should be getting Waddle back for the Playoffs(or at least the NCG)
