Playoffs need to extend to at least 8 teams

lol

None of which justifies the "best conference in the country" scheduling like pussies.
Serious? Check the next 15 years of scheduling and tell me which conference schedules weak. SOS ... most of our teams toward the top year in, year out.

Who cares when you take your bye week? Some teams load up with cupcakes early, giving them a "pre-season." The SEC starts conference games week 1. With all the "weak" teams we play, we still have the top SOS year in, year out. Also, scheduling is up to you ... if you do it badly that's on you and your conference.

Loading up on cupcakes means wins you may not get if you actually scheduled teams with a pulse. This creates the false narrative.

And lol @SEC fans thinking scheduling teams with a pulse is "scheduling badly". Thanks for proving the point.

hmmm

I see it more as elite coaches. Saban, Dabo, Urbs.
Day is riding Urbs coattails and doing a good job maintaining what he inherited. Could be elite.

Pick any era of CFB (pre-CFP) and there are only 2 or 3 "elite coaches" in those spans. Those coaches consistently had streaks of top 4 seasons and played for NC's. Said coaches just have an innate ability to put the pieces together and get people lined up right. A lot of that is communicating to their assistants what they want to do, and said assistants can communicate it to their players.
Saban loses assistants on the regular. He just plugs in a new one and they do his bidding. Consistency is an easy sell to recruits.

There is a lot of mediocrity in CFB today.

While true, Day is enjoying the success Meyer started, he actually seems to be improving on it. His assistant coach hires have been home runs. Urban's weakness, if he had any, was his loyalty to bad assistants (see Zach Smith/Bill Davis) and his brand of QB recruit was becoming outdated. (Braxton miller, jt barrett, terrelle pryor type). Days QB recruits are spectacular and while he seems to like mobility, he much prefers throwing first.

If Ohio State does the improbable and pulls out a win tonight, Days stock is going to skyrocket

Have we actually seen one of Day’s QB recruits start? I don’t really count Justin Fields as a Day recruit as he was a transfer and he transferred because there was a need at Ohio State. If he hadn’t transferred there could have been a very different narrative.

I just find it odd you wax poetically about Day’s QB recruits and none of them have been in the fire.

It's more of the type of QB he is recruiting than the actual play. I fully expect than play to be fine, but my comment on his recruiting was directed more to their rating and type

CAP on recruiting is what CF needs, No matter how many teams are added the top 3 will still be in the semi's and finals. Game will still be dull blowouts. The only way to level the playing field is cap 4 & 5 star recruits.

They got to play dude or recruiting don’t mean shit. You might have a lineup of Tate Martells on the roster for all we know. Saying that Day has improved the QB position over Meyer is a big hypothesis at this point.

That isn’t something that is even remotely possible. This isn’t the pros and there isn’t a draft. These kids have the freedom to play where they want.

Disagree, times have changed, the game has changed and high recruits don't go to college to play school

Tate Martell was recruited as a mobile QB/athlete type of QB, that's the kind Meyer liked, the landscape is changing though and those types are seemingly becoming less effective. Day is recruiting QBs first, and worrying about the athlete part second.

There is still no possible way for an organization to tell a kid he can't go to the college of his choice if that college can fit him in

Why not? schools do it all the time. Plenty of kids don't go to schools of their choice. School is about education, not football (atleast we're told). They already have a limit on scholarships and rosters. I don't see why there can't be restrictions on recruiting.

It's between the school and kid/kids guardians that are making the decision. There shouldn't be anything else that can affect that

The best you could do would be the following:

1. All scholarships have to be 4 year scholarships (this would stop teams from processing out kids).
2. End the Gray Shirt loophole.
3. For teams in the playoffs limit them to 22 rather than 25 for the next recruiting class.

You couldn’t limit the amount of 4 and 5 stars a team got because that just isn’t going to work and opens a can of Anti-trust worms.

The guy that has you in his back right now is a mobile QB and athlete. Put Mac Jones back there and it might be a very different story so be careful what you wish for.

It would skyrocket. But it could also be a result of stars aligning....or just Fool's Gold ala Gene Chizik? Coach Cookie Monster? Jimbo?

Now, if any of 'em get two or multiple nattys.....or even make it to multiple finals games...............................................

He is still throw first. His biggest weakness in college has been him holding on to the ball to long in the pocket. His mobility to make something out of nothing is definitely an advantage, but either through coaching or maybe him just wanting to be better, he doesn't rely on it.

Lol at SC playing Notre Dame every year and pretending their OOC schedule is super tough because they are one of two teams in the Pac that don't schedule an FCS team every year. Notre Dame and USC, struggle squirming to keep each other relevant is what is wrong with the polls these days.

We all saw what happens when USC schedules a team with a pulse OOC...that is when they don't pussy out of the game.

No one "loads up" on cupcakes any more than other teams. You guys have Fresno State and Rice on your schedule. Fresno State or Murray State, it's a win for both teams. Rice?

Compare the OOC schedules of the top SEC schools. It's as good if not better than yours. You have this narrative in your head that just isn't reality. As for scheduling badly, you play 9 IC games, we play 8. You cry, PAC teams don't go to the CFP, SEC schools do. It really is simple. You can continue to whine about it, or do something about it. Your cuck commissioner and conference don't and won't do anything.

Then, we play each other and we all know that means it is a tougher schedule.

Well that was harsh.
