I Care Alot.
6/10

Held my interest. The premise is interesting.
Every character is pretty much scum.

The Witch 8.0

Saw it mentioned in the thread recently and there was a 4k rental available so I checked it out. Love the atmosphere of the movie. Wasn't sure if it was going to go in the direction of an actual witch or just how the characters were perceiving things so it kept me interested throughout to see.

A24 really is the bestovie studio these days.

Just started binge watching a series on Showtime called “City on a Hill”. It’s set in Boston just after the Charles Stuart incident. Great local shots of the Boston area. Good story. Great acting. First season is 10 episodes. Second season set to start this spring

This show is set in Boston during the early 1990s. It is just after the Charles Stuart incident and tensions were very high. The black community is very distrustful of the police department bc of what happened in the Stuart case. Additionally, during this time, the Boston office of the FBI is viewed as being corrupt because of their interaction with Whitey Bulger as an informant. The show captures the feeling of that period very well.

I won’t talk too much about the series but I’ll say think of it like combining the movies Black Mass and The Town with a little bit of Good Will Hunting sprinkled in.

The show stars Kevin Bacon and some other well known actors. Highly recommend it.

The Bridge on the River Kwai

7.2

Been meaning to watch this for years but not really a fan of movies prior to the late 60s with very few exceptions. A bit long, a bit boring. Ending was interesting. No desire to watch it ever again.

7.5

I can't remember if I had seen this movie before or not. I don't think I have but parts of it were certainly familiar, not sure if that was just from seeing trailers or what. Anyway it was an enjoyable movie. Nothing ground breaking although an interesting concept. Only a hour and a half.

Coming 2 America. One of the worst sequels I've ever watched. I liked the original. I changed the channel halfway through and I almost always watch a movie all the way through. Didn't find anything funny about it.

God this movie sucked so much ass. I couldn’t believe how utterly horrible it was. I wanted to enjoy just a few more scenes with all the characters they do...but it just ruined even that.

Horrid. Don’t watch.

Watched most of this last week. It was clever, and stupid at the same time. But it will hold interest. I like how she stays pretty tough through all of it. And you just have to like Dinklage playing a mob boss.

I am TRYING to watch Coming 2 America, but it is a chore. Lazy lazy lazy.

I know I will not be able to finish it.

Edit: I gave up as Wesley Snipes was telling the kids to run along and play with their hand grenades.

It was. I couldn't watch it any more. Had to change the channel. And Eddie Murphy was the best. Just a really bad script.

He took a walk on the wild side...

That it was. I felt like it could have been OK. I liked seeing Lisa again, she had some good moments.

But there was this “the bastard son is a bad idea....no wait no we love him all of the sudden”. Horrid development and pacing. Not sure what Amazon paid but it felt like a cash grab.

Finally got around to watching The Highwaymen. Enjoyed it, quite a bit. I really like how it intimated that it was kinda the beginning of the media circus and celebrity. 8/10

That was a good watch. I enjoy watching older and more cantankerous Costner.

They did intimate on the media and celebrity, and I’m glad they didn’t hammer it harder than that. This was indeed when celebrity and media took a huge leap with all the crooks people wanted to follow at the time.

I Care A Lot

It was a solid 8. Good fun! Was hoping both those bitches got what was coming to them in the end though.
The first 20 minutes or so had my blood boiling, almost to the point that I was thinking I shouldn't watch it before bedtime because I'd have angry dreams. For whatever reason, i already don't like the main actress and I still don't like the doctor for being a little skank ho in Two Week's Notice, but I pushed through. Dinklage made it better, but I was really hoping for more torture and maiming of those other two bitches. Probably give it a 7 because it could've been a lot better, but they wrapped it up fairly well, if not too quickly.

Yeah it was not what I expected. Kevin Costner and Woody Harrelson were both very good with Woody actually being better IMO.

And I agree, it was the beginning of the press deciding to give a morbid public what they wanted. Look how many folks showed up to view their bodies, the car and then their funerals. They were celebrities for killing a cop....the original cop killers!
