Mock Drafts : Chat

We’ve suggested to change the voting for years so this isn’t a new thing, not sure why some think this is new. Crying? I don’t see anyone crying, I see suggesting others methods bc like I have said before...it gets old hearing the same opinions over and over again. It just gets old and drawn out. Bringing in new voters that have different opinions is good way to diversify the voting mixed in with the same mock guys. The guys crying to keep the voting the same, even though it is broken, it’s bc they are afraid of change. I can compare it to a company, if you don’t eventually change your ways to match today...you are going to struggle and plummet. I don’t see this group as interested and it is clear. Is that crying? I think it is helping, trying to expand this group and keep this going. It’s just being stubborn otherwise. I’ve won my fair share of mock drafts and while it is fun winning it was more about the conversation and guys getting to together and give their opinions. Not so much these days. Draft, pick a name in voting. Draft. Rinse, Repeat. And if you think this is bitching and crying towards Nos it isn’t. What he has done over the years keeping this up has been remarkable. Right now I’m taking a break, got a lot going on and I don’t have time to run the mocks...it was crazy Nos did it for years. Takes a lot of dedication.

This isn’t the first time me or others have wanted to change the voting and for good reason. Right now, I’m not the only one btw
No, you're just the ringleader. When you lose its got to be "voter issues". Ridiculous

Do you remember him crying a couple years ago when he was winning more than anyone? Yeah, me neither...

100% right. When he wins, crickets. When he loses, explain the voting

I think we all hate the voting. And would agree the voting is the worst part of the drafts. Problem is there is no way to have voting without it being flawed. So we just kept the easiest way. I mean look at how we do it, it is the same way a kindergartener would suggest.

Those three reasons I gave actually are the three reasons people leave. I run the drafts so i'm always here, i'm always part of the conversation, i'm stubborn and opinionated and it doesn't sit right with some. I don't give a fuck!

I have had many people complain to me over the years that we draft either to slow for some or to fast for some others.

Some people don't have the personality to handle not winning, that's fine but not many people win right away. Ducey still hasn't won but he's still here trying and I respect that a great deal, not sure I could have done it as long as he has.

Ducey definitely is a fixture

Fwiw i won once and 2 straight seconds when we first came over to this site and i still wanted to change it up.

I think to a degree Nos is right we are broken. A simple change could be worth a shot to make it more interesting.

Id like to hear others chime in...perhaps @citysushi could extrapolate on his idea.

Even if it was five participants perhaps more of a committee style vote would work better

I have an idea....How about one of the regulars decides each mock...only they don't participate. So one by one we sit a draft and judge)I ain't sitting baseball though lol). One judge, one vote, everyone gets to be the say all end all equally. One catch, the person acting as judge can't simply say Stakes or UK or 500, he has to break down what he saw in each matchup and how he thought it would play out. Beyond that, the judge's vote is final and beyond contest

I had a similar idea of using a draft rotation and leave a couple out each draft. And they act as a committee.

Biggest problem with that is that there is a bunch of us that would only want to sit out on basketball drafts. The only way for it to be fair would to be to make it all random.

This actually sounds like a pretty good idea to me. We should give it a trial run. At the very least we could run a set of drafts to test this out and have everyone have an opportunity to be a judge. In addition, because there's only one judge I think the drafting teams could do a little write up too if they'd like on why their team would win (or not win) and we could actually have some debate on the matchups.

Since @Shanemansj13 is out for this upcoming draft, lets make him the first judge for our next draft. Let's just do an open MLB draft, 1890-2000.

LOL I've lost my fair share of matches. Some I think I should have won, some I think I had a shitty team. I've said change up the voting for years is a good option and I'm not even the first one to mention it. So you're wrong.

This system has been broken for years and you are lying to yourself if you don't agree. I mentioned one way to change it and you and Nos have a fit. There are ways to change up the voting where the voting isn't stale and boring.
