What Food is your State known for

My state of residence (Texas) is spot on with brisket. My state of birth (California) is not right. No one goes to CA and says “I gotta get me some avocado toast”.
Yeah, i thought cali was either tri-tip or mission style burritos.

Went across that old bridge more times than I can remember. B&L Liquor, Apple River, Cajun Club, Hilltop Drive In, Tomahawk Scout Camp...

A little further in on the WI side, remember the Loch Ness Lounge?

By far the filthiest "gentleman's club" I've ever been in.

Every Californian I know in Texas misses legit street tacos, but I’d go for either of your suggestions over avocado toast.

Holy fuck, I was going to include that but I couldn't remember the name, didn't they like give you a flashlight when you walked in? That place was nasty, as a kid in his early 20's I wasn't real interested in seeing mid 30's housewife pussy!

You need to come a little further south, we got real street tacos down here!

Pasties are the bomb.

Not really an entire Michigan thing. More so the UP. But it’s what I was hoping to see when I clicked the link.

Gonna eat a bunch starting next Saturday when I get back up there.

Feared it’d be coney dogs. That just Detroit. And they aren’t top of the line hot dogs by any means.

No.... Just no. Not sure what ours would be... Buckeyes?

Maine - lobster

Vermont - maple syrup although NH and the PQ does it just as well and cheese that is better than anything you'll get from Wisconsin.

Massachusetts - shit. Most of you know it as baked beans, but baked beans are shit so................ Maybe cranberries. :noidea:

Connecticut - who goes to that place?

R.I. - something really small whatever it is.

Passive aggressive

I'd argue Jucy Lucy over hot dish.

Other states have hot dish, they just call it casserole

Cherries

When we vacation in Michigan my kids gorge themselves on cherries and cherry pies. Good stuff.
Cherry Festival starts next Saturday.
(Never been. Traverse City is busy enough the rest of the summer.)

Cheese. Mostly our amazing Cheddar.

Not to mention cheeses 'Sconsin has invented, like Colby.
and that's why Wisconsin will always have a place in my heart. and likely will contribute to the death of my heart, sooner or later.

A life without cheese...is not a life worth living.
