With a Big 12 schedule that includes Tulane, Western Carolina, and Nebraska as their OOC opponents.

I don't think they get or maintain that lofty ranking with an SEC schedule.

Depends on the schedule lol. Even in the SEC, sometimes teams get easier schedules... cough *Alabama* cough.

Yes, Nebraska is that way too. Even more so.

So, I just looked up the numbers for last year and the year before RE: Iowa State home crowds.

In 2020 (with limited capacity):

The smallest Big Xii home crowd was 13,502 for the Texas Tech game.-*
The Oklahoma game drew 13,724.
The largest Big Xii home crowd was 14,256 for the West Virginia game.-*

In 2019 (with full capacity):

The smallest Big Xii home crowd was for 58,210 for the Kansas game.-*
The Texas game drew 58,946.-*
The largest Big Xii home crowd was 61,500 for the the Oklahoma State game.-*

*-I was there! Ironically, the only game of these 6 I did not attend was Oklahoma last year (night game with foul weather forecasted).

Toss anything Covid.

Attendance, W/L record, Stats, ALL OF IT!!

At least that's what I do to make myself feel better about Frost and Nebraska.

Iowa State in the BIG west at this point would be fantastic for the BIG. Great rival game to make things a little more interesting in that side of the conference and a thorn in the side of the others as long as Campbell is there. Nobody is gonna tune in to BIG network to watch KU and Iowa play football, NOBODY, but many will for the CyHawk bowl, ISU/NU, ISU/_____ .. Basketball is another issue but these moves aint about basketball.
If Iowa State and Kansas join the Big 10 West can we rename the division “Children of the Corn”?

Virginia or North Carolina

Both AAU and either would be new footprint.

The ACC's got a horrible tv deal through I think 2035?

Does Kevin Warren have the Delaney nads and skills to poach one of those?
You can't get UNC without NCSU. They're tied together via NC legislation so they'd be out

IVA is interesting but I don't know if they'd bite

That's not a lot of variance among the opponents. I mean if the difference between OU and Tech is only 222 fans, that's pretty impressive IMHO.

Is it similar with OOC games? In a lot of places a poor OOC opponent doesn't get the draw.

ACC GOR is the most iron clad one in the P5 conferences.. I think half of the league has to bolt to dodge the fees for leaving

The SEC's just more physically tasking week-to-week than the finesse Big 12.

Cliché!!!
lol.. but it's already happening.. with how Bama, Ole Miss and UF are all working the spread.. defenses are scrambling.. sucks to prepare for elite QBs and offensive minded HCs week in week out.

Smokie is the Volunteer's dog you dumbass. War Eagle and Tiger are NOT related in anyway.
Smokie the dog is a mascot.
So is Davey Crockett.

A musket toting, frontier style dressed student named Davey Crockett holds the rank of UT”s most established mascot tradition. (Brian Lanius) The mascot name salutes the “volunteer” ethic that helped Tennessee develop its reputation of helping others. “We are the Volunteer State.”

Smokie is NOT Davey's dog!!!!! I dare your dumb ass to show one contemporary article linking Smokey as having been Davey Crockett's dog when the idea was being considered.

Maryland took the bait. It cost them $31 million.

They'd have to look long term in how long it would take to get that money back compared to continuing ACC share until 2035.

It always boils down to the same things...

If you're good up-front on both sides of the ball, you'll have success.
That and a head coach that can get people lined up properly.

Huskers have been lacking that for over a decade and you see the results.

they have also been lacking a really good QB too

lol and the crazy part is that the BiG also tax'd them for joining too LOL..

Ain't no QB gonna look good running for his life every 3rd and 8 because his RB keeps getting stuffed at the LOS.
i thought the BiG bred OL? Like WI seems to have a solid OLine every year.. take some from wherever they are getting them

Wish it were that easy. Those Wiscy O-linemen aren't highly rated.

Nebraska's seems to have a culture problem in developing the Fat & Nastys.

Could be the Strength and Conditioning Coordinator.
Could be the players themselves being lazy and scarfing Little Caesars $5 Hot-n-Now's instead of the nutritious training table food.

Could be a combination of both for the last 10+ years.

I personally believe Barney Cotton and Bo Pelini ruined the pipeline by giving their families starting positions so they could fill their scrapbooks. The linemen busting their asses at the time said 'fuck it' and those that followed never got the culture back.
Husker linemen (both O and D) have been pathetic at NFL combine bench presses for years.
