and yeah, calling out a dumb poster is not necessarily a defense of the ACC. It is more of a critique against a less than intelligent member of this community.

But the irony of you calling someone else dumb when you can't properly quote me is outstanding. Or how you messed up on the basic math in the braves thread. But continue down that path if you want.

lmao, okay, i'll admit this conversation has gone on long enough

i also have no problem admitting that I don't actually think you're dumb, I actually think you're a high quality poster and I generally like reading your posts. I'll also admit that I'm annoyed about this issue because I know the ACC is going to be gone within the next fifteen years, and i work in the tourism industry in Greensboro so that's going to suck for a lot of people that I know on a personal level.

and tbh, i really haven't defended the ACC. I'm also on record, either on this board or the other board, as to saying that John Swofford was a horrible commissioner.

I also didn't really fuck up math yesterday. For some reason, I thought we were 4 games down at the start of the Mets series. I haven't watched more than 2 innings at a time since May < and that's my story, and I'm sticking to it

Its all good man. I needed something to pass the time at work this morning.

In general, I'm 50/50 on whether or not I would want Clemson to leave the ACC. I hate the NC schools, but that's not necessarily a bad thing, keeps things more interesting. I've also spent most of my life bitching about the SEC, so I'd have to eat a lot crow in that transition. I also know Clemson, much like FSU is now, have always been on the outside in this conference. And unless they bring in more football powers, not just ND, it'll most likely always be that way. In the meantime, the best conference related item I have to look forward to is Clemson beating Duke once every few years and maybe I'll be alive to see Clemson win in chapel hill again.

really think ACC football is just cursed. Miami's downfall + post-Beamer VT + Clemson/FSU never really being elite at the same time lends me to believe that. I also think UNC + NCSU are two of the biggest underachievers in all of college football. Adding BC over WVU in 2005 was a mistake, too. If we're being honest, UNC's dumb fixation on men's basketball has probably cost the ACC a shit ton of money over the years.

I posted this on one of the expansion threads in the CFB board, but it is only a matter of time before the Big Ten and the SEC absorb the ACC and the Pac-12. We're going to end up with two major conferences that consist of 24-32 teams. I think Clemson, FSU, UNC, NCSU, UVa and VT head to the SEC, and Oregon (AAU?), Washington, the California schools head to the Pac-12.

Probably. They are in "Phase 2" which means they're still looking for viable options. Greensboro hasn't been ruled out, but its looking unlikely.

There's a small part of me that hopes the ACC is dumb enough to move it out of NC and move it to DC or New York. lmao
