I’ve always been of the mind that Johnson was also a target. But his hitman couldn’t get himself up to actually being a hitman.Just an event in history that I know has a ton of mystery and theory surrounding it. I've actually been more intrigued by whether or not Johnson was involved in the Lincoln assassination (probably not but some interesting loose ends to follow with it that make it an interesting thought).
Four seems good.care to point me in the right direction…

That there was a trial and him confessing to a priest is why I always say end up saying there's probably nothing to see here. But between his assassin being the only one not to attempt the assassination (and probably having the easiest path), the note Booth left Johnson that day, the assassin's quick execution and Booth being a confederate sympathizer who surely would've wanted a Southerner in office....idk I think it's more of a fun what if thought experiment than anything.I’ve always been of the mind that Johnson was also a target. There was a trial…. So I have never questioned as much. Weird how that works.
See, this is the shit that makes me second guess you came in looking for a real discussion.got it. Yeah… by the time you were hitting adolescence the topic had pretty much been played out. There weren’t any more conspiracy books coming out so there wasn’t much buzz for your generation to feed off of.
The Zapruder film is the most watched film ever. It’s been dissected frame by frame untold amounts of time. You could get “lost” just looking at that and discussing it.
For example, be sure to ask uncle @Nosferatu and uncle @broncosmitty to explain to you the significance of umbrella man.

I mean WTF was a guy in a dark trench coat doing standing on the sidewalk on perfectly sunny day with an open umbrella at the EXACT spot where the president of the United States gets assassinated?!?!?
Tell me about the note from JWB to Johnson, if you don’t mind. That there was a trial and him confessing to a priest is why I always say end up saying there's probably nothing to see here. A majority of Americans have doubts.
Most of that majority isn’t going on tangents about the Babushka Lady and her role in the New World Order or Umbrella Man and his signaling abilities. Although the open umbrella is really weird. To the point of WTF.
Tell me about the note from JWB to Johnson, if you don’t mind.
We talked earlier about Tague, he took the shrapnel. He had no intention of being near the President that day. Wasn’t on his agenda. Life just took him to Dealy Plaza, that day, at that time. John Kennedy had no influence on his decisions in any way. Yet nearly 60 years later, we talked about him.hahaha
I was joking. I will admit… it’s weird as fuck though!!
haha.
He’s pumping that umbrella up and down like crazy. He sure does look like and act like a spotter. Hahaha
I love this quote from the guy…
Testifying before the HSCA, Witt said "I think if the Guinness Book of World Records had a category for people who were at the wrong place at the wrong time, doing the wrong thing, I would be No. 1 in that position, without even a close runner-up."

Umbrella Man was completely influence by JFK that day. He was there, with that umbrella, specifically for Kennedy. Because he was a nerd. The umbrella went up and down for the same reason, he was a nerd. Look at me, Mr. President….
Total WTF though.
I think a major factor in Atzerodt not going through with it was retracing his steps as he waited.![]()
That was the note left seeing if Johnson was home that day. It's believed it was either to confirm Johnson was there with the assassin George Atzerodt staying on the floor right above him, or it was a false flag attempt to try to redirect and hope to implicate Johnson (ironically leading to this discussion right now) because he was always worried Atzerodt was too squirrely and would back out, therefore taking Johnson down another way. Lincoln's wife actually wondered about that note and was of the belief it was proof Johnson might have been involved. Atzerodt actually might've gotten away if he didn't get drunk that night and asked suspicious questions/got careless with his weapon and discarding it on the street.

I think the most likely scenario is he's just couldn't do it. Booth at one pointed wanted someone else because of the timidness and Atzerodt's defense attorney said in court his client was too much of a coward and therefore couldn't be involved.I think a major factor in Atzerodt not going through with it was retracing his steps as he waited.
He was staying in the same hotel as Johnson, under his own name.
I’ve never spent much time thinking about the note tbh. Does really leave me wondering the intent.
A headlining actor, leaving a note for the VP, the day he murdered the President, in the most public of ways.I think the most likely scenario is he's just couldn't do it. Booth at one pointed wanted someone else because of the timidness and Atzerodt's defense attorney said in court his client was too much of a coward and therefore couldn't be involved.
The note does make it real compelling though. Was Booth's intent just simply to get people wondering if Johnson was involved? If Johnson was involved I tend to think Booth wouldn't have gotten so careless that he left such a damning piece of evidence that easy to find....could he have? Like I said before, I think it's more one of those things that's just interesting to ponder about.
Fuck him. He made no contribution to this discussion.excuse me while I switch to my @Handicappers id now.
You’ve gotta like this guy. He fully admitted he was demonstrating (about what exactly I’ve never caught….doesn’t matter).hahaha

Honestly, I’ve never even sniffed these aspects of the conspiracy with Lincoln. I have not doubt there was one. This one is easy (as said….trials have a way of settling things often).I think the most likely scenario is he's just couldn't do it. Booth at one pointed wanted someone else because of the timidness and Atzerodt's defense attorney said in court his client was too much of a coward and therefore couldn't be involved.
