Your Top 6

I wouldn't bet against Cincinnati vs OU, Michigan or Michigan State.

Now Michigan or Michigan State could change my mind Saturday but I like them vs Oklahoma. You guys could have lost on Saturday to Kansas and it's not like you're blowing everyone out of the water. You have not played as well as you have in prior years and on a neutral site, I think you have your hands full with the Bearcats.
The problem with the B1G east is that we just don't know.

- tOSU lost to Ore, the only team they have played with a pulse
- PSU looked good until they lost to Iowa (injury), and then to a terrible Illinois.
- MSU's best win is 4 loss Miami
- UM's best win is a 4 loss Washington

There isn't a signature win amongst them. Seriously, not one. They could all be really good, or all really mediocre.

Take Alabama out of the mix and that’s the SEC West with Mississippi State included.

The next 3 weeks everything will be clearer but right now if Cincinnati was playing any Big 10 team not named Ohio State and I wouldn’t bet against them. I’m not putting money on them either but they would have a legit shot. I think they beat anyone in the ACC and the only question in the PAC would be Oregon.

- Bama - win over a bad Miami team
- MSU - win over a decent NCSU team
- LSU loss to UCLA
- Ole Miss - wins over Louisville and Tulane (see OU)
- Arkansas - Texas win
- TAMU - beat a bad Colorado
- Auburn - best win is a close loss to PSU that looks bad

I think the West has played a little better than the B1G east, with some decent wins. But, I get your point.

Auburn should get credit for winning in Fayetteville and Baton Rouge.

LSU was pretty healthy when we played them and they are a different team at home.

I was trying to keep it more to OOC ... Arky isn't living up to their early expectations, and LSU sucks this year. Will be more interested to see how you do against Bama, Ole Miss and TAMU.

Probably 1-2.

I think you’re being a little tough on Arkansas as they don’t really have to win another game to have exceeded expectations. Wins over Texas and Texas A&M are massive achievements for them. I’ll give them credit for taking Ole Miss to the wire as well.

Nah, I'm a huge Arky fan ... we loved Sam Pittman when he was our OL coach, and he is a fantastic guy. I'd love to see him win the rest of his games. Owning the state of Texas is great, for sure. I just want to see them get to where they can go 7-5/8-4 and he will be there forever.

I keep reading about the Oklahoma hate in relation to Kansas game. Oklahoma didn't have a zero win Arizona team to play. They had a bad half just like Michigan did. Oregon lost to a sorry Stanford team. Yeah so the Oregon win against the Buckeyes was great, but Oklahoma has a zero in the loss column. Oregon does not. If the Oregon team is so great and the win against the Buckeyes is so awesome, what happened against Stanford? Even Alabama had a bad first half against A&M. I can't wait to see what the committee comes up with this season.

Just don't get OU love. Top 6, ok. But they barely beat KU the worst team in the P5 and G5, or close thereto.
I think it is simple. Most people don’t feel their are 6 really good teams out there, so put whoever the fuck your want at the back of your top 6

By the end of the year there won't be 4 good teams left standing and that is why expanding the playoffs is a waste of time.

Didn’t that “decent NCSU team” lose to a bad Miami?

I am going to do something different here. Instead of ranking teams based on their ranking or what I think they deserve right now, I am going to rank teams based on how good I really think they are.

I feel like there is a clear top 3:

1. Alabama
2. Georgia
3. Ohio State

I am banking on one of these 3 teams winning the whole thing. After that:

4. Oklahoma
5. Oregon
6. Cincinnati

I am still not sure on Michigan. They are outside waiting but I won't them to play someone. Michigan State is like Iowa, great season but they are not competitive against top notch teams.

If I was a poll voter, I would put Michigan and Michigan State in top 6 right now based on performance but I don't think they are top 6 teams.

You guys are unbeaten and have played a decent schedule. I think you deserve the ranking that you got right now. The season will play out.

Why would it be incredible? The B1G, while having many teams ranked highly, are truly not very good.

PSU just lost to Illinois

MSU needed a punt return TD to beat Nebraska, after being held to 0 1st downs in the 2nd half

UM almost lost to Rutgers after putting up like 20 yards of offense total in the 2nd half

It is pointless to even talk about the B1G West, as OSU can beat the majority of the teams by double digits with their 2nd string

Truth be told -- OSU has vastly more talent on their roster than any team in the B1G and it isn't even remotely close. I'd wager they have twice as many 5 star recruits than the rest of the B1G teams combined, not to mention, you could also say the same about top 100 recruits.

The only teams who can match talent with OSU is Bama, Georgia and Clemson (even though Clemson looks like a train wreck this year)

OSU should be a 2+ TD favorite over every B1G school based on talent alone.

Not saying they are good, but if those were SEC teams it would be sold as being good top to bottom.

Any loss to Miami is bad, but they lost by 1 point to Miami at Miami.
So do we get to say that Ohio State’s win over Minnesota is a win over a decent team?

I would say Minnesota is decent despite the inexplicable loss to Bowling Green

That’s fair but they are saying OSU hasn’t beaten anyone with a pulse but NCSU is a good win.
