Guess the CFP Top 25

Pretending they arent important much less saying it is pure stupidity. It’s how people make arguments for one over another. Its literally what helps build most of a resume. That’s my point.
Please explain what would have to happen for any one of the teams 15-25 to get into the CFP. You simply can't do it with a straight face. They aren't relevant to a 4 team CFP. The closest you can get is Auburn winning out and beat UGA in Atlanta and going as the SECC.

You aren’t listening. To say ranking people 15-25 isn’t important is total bullshit. The rankings of people 15-25 is important because it gives the top 4 and those just outside the top 4 resume builders. It can literally help move up a team let’s say #8 into the top 4. I’m not saying someone 15-25 will make the playoff. I’m laying out how 15-25 is important for resumes.

Oregon is the team that really has to hope for assists from other teams losing down the stretch.

they don’t have a single top 25 team on their schedule at the moment and the other PAC division is a mess. Beating a 3+ loss Utah or Zona State team there isn’t going to earn them any brownie points

I assume you are looking at future schedule, since Oregon has 2 top 25 wins.

I think it’s hilarious you immediately assume I’m pushing for cincy to get in. I’ve also said from the beginning that nd has to go undefeated to get in the playoff. This team isn’t very good. It’s the weakest schedule they’ve had in yrs, I’m just pointing out that Mississippi st being 17 is a joke. It’s hilarious watching every bama fan run to their aide.

I wasn't assuming you were pushing cincy, I was criticizing Notre Dame at 10...that's the real joke. The only reason Cincy is even in the discussion is because they beat a perennially overrated Notre Dame. Notre Dame was a joke at 12 when they played Cincy and even more of a joke at 10. It is no surprise that Notre Dame took the easy out and half assed joined the ACC, they would get rolled in every other conference. I think Cincy is a decent team, just not a playoff team they should be at 10. Notre Dame on the other hand is barely a top 25 team. There is no one in the top 10 that wouldn't smoke them and few in the top 25 who wouldn't be competitive. The only top 25 team you've beaten you needed 3 DST touchdowns to beat...and let's not pretend the ND D was the reason for those. Notre Dame would need the wheels to fall off everyone's wagon to make the playoffs and if they did they would be a 3 touchdown dog to whoever they played....and not cover.
.
I'm no Mrs State honk...they just happened to be the one team you were disparaging among about 20 teams I would take straight up on a neutral vs Notre Dame.

San Antonio boasting an 8-0 record, and currently ranked #16 in the AP poll, did not get ranked by the committee... interesting.

If Auburn wins out they are in.

They won’t win out but hypothetically if they did no way they don’t get in.

OU at #8. And here I've been predicting for a couple of weeks that Oklahoma will end up either #2 or #12. Gotta be a lot of upset people on the team right now. Good.
The real key for us is other then winning out, and showing improvement on defense is for #11 OSU and #12 Baylor not to lose anymore games. Both of those games are on the road, and the committee gives you more credit for beating good teams on the road. We will be totally fine if those things happen.

I hate ou but they do control their own destiny, beat baylor, ISU, and okie st.. then beat one of them again in the CCG, they are in. No way are they going to keep out a school who currently has the longest winning streak. However if they drop one... they will need a lot of help to get back in.
Maybe the committee is tired of putting them in and them no showing

I love how people like to bitch about 15-25 in the rankings like they matter at all. Those teams are eliminated, and if you say it's to boost Bama, Bama ain't getting in unless they win out, and they would absolutely deserve to be in if they do.

Actually there have been teams that have started 15 and even lower, and made the college football playoff.

They hate OU’s strength of schedule and how they’ve struggled. They aren‘t wrong.

If OU was in the SEC west they would have at least 2 losses and the committee knows that.

Well i mean they already have 2 losses

OU started out #15 in 2015 and made it in, and Ohio St. started out #16 in 2014 and made it in. So there is nothing to be worried about for OU yet.

Of course it would be good to start higher, but with our extremely weak schedule so far, and all the close games against that extremely weak schedule I can't really complain about a #8 ranking.

Nope. They are wary of looking like ass with their hodgepodge of changing premises from week to week in past seasons. Cinci will start outside
Like I stated.

Every SEC win is worth 1.5 wins.
True. That's why the SEC is the only conference with a 3 loss team in the top 25.

Wait, I mean...
