Nebraska Cornhuskers The Official 10000 posts for a Husker Conference Championship

A thorough replacing of assistants is typically the writing on the wall anyway. It's the last great act of defiance.

That's because the HC himself is not detail orientated. If you put new people under him you just get the same result. You're only delaying the inevitable.
It's that way in all positions of leadership, whether it be leading Hewlett Packard or a football team.

Yes SC was a miss on the key. Trev knows as much as we do what needs to change. I’m sure Trev will force changes one way or another.

Trev knows more than we do.

It is he on the phone with big donors/boosters, reviewing ticket sales, apparel sales, etc.
It is he who can watch practice, sit in on team meetings, film room, weight room, etc.
What is the 'culture'?

He's not Scott Frost's daddy who's there to give him advice. Just to have said child nod their head in agreement, even though said child has no intention of changing a thing. Frost gets his $5 million/yr whether he changes things or not.
It shouldn't take threats of firing if Frost doesn't do 'this or that'.
Trev's job is to support Frost until he doesn't

I'd personally have had Frost clean out his office after Purdue (a buy week embarrassing loss). I'd have named Chinander interim with Lubick as OC, until the HC position were filled.
The only thing missing would be Frost on the sideline and Frost talking about how 'close' they are ad nauseam.
3-9 = 3-9 regardless who's pacing the sideline.

One thing we can be fairly confident in is that Trev hasn't been shopping around. There's no smoke, so therefore likely no fire.
Agents don't keep secrets. They leak it to get their client more money where they're currently at, or to potentially get a bidding war going over them.

Interesting that 4 years ago when this staff came in, Chinander was the main one people were questioning. Now 4 years later, his job is the most secure out of all of them.

The ACC had some high powered, quick scoring, offenses back in 2017.

Scoring Offense (All FBS teams)

UCF: #1
Memphis: #2
USF: #10
SMU: #12

Total Offense (All FBS Teams)

Memphis: #4
UCF: #5
USF: #6
SMU: #15

Will be interesting to see how contract was restructured. I read somewhere that Harbaugh did that at Michigan, with incentives, so probably that route.

Will be interesting to see what SF changes to get over the hump.

Boosters/Donors must not be too pissed.

That or they'll get a considerably cheaper buyout if Frost doesn't get bowl eligible next season.

Yea, I'm sure buyout went down, with incentives for performance going up. Let's hope they come out better after another bye and this news, can't have a repeat performance of Minn game.

An abundance of 6th year seniors will do that for you.

Watch, nothing will change staff wise.

i feel like the D is finally coming along and don't feel like there will be much dropoff next year. they substitute a lot of guys. JoJo will be the biggest loss imo. Stille, i feel like D THomas has come along well and Casey Rogers was coming along LY but was hampered early in the year due to injury. Will Daniels go pro? I feel like he could get drafted, might be the biggest loss. Dismuke/Williams/CTB, eh, Farmer has looked good, others have gotten time, Clark and Buford have seemed capable when in at CB.

Our leading tacklers are Heinrich and Reimer and they are an SO and RFr.

i hit on it above, we have more NFL talent than we've had in awhile. Daniels/JoJo/CTB, who knows how good Heinrich and Reimer could be. I'm real curious how All-Conference team will look like. Not sure how they can skip over some of our guys with the way they have performed against MSU/Mich/OSU, but i admittedly don't watch a ton of the other teams.

Big changes for offensive staff, Lubick, Verduzco, Austin and Held are gone
you really think all of them? I'm in favor of replacing Verduzco and Austin. I'm torn on Lubick, since SF calls the plays, but WRs definitely dont always seem up to snuff. Held - i'm not sure if the RB rotation is his call, but i feel like they are getting a bad rap just because of how bad the OL plays. It's actually looked pretty good with Johnson finally being like the star back we had hoped Stepp was going to be at the beginning of the season.

Already happened.
