Weight Gain/Loss during the Pandemic, be honest

I mean, you don't have the self confidence to post a pic of your knuckle tats and your tiny little dog for some reason

are you worried we would make fun of you, Rob?

Apparently a lot of people think their “best self” is masking up, taking a bunch of shots, and going on w business as usual.

No change in diet, exercise, drug and alcohol use etc…

If thinking you’re better or above that is arrogant then I’ll take arrogant over best self all day.

I think confidence is the ability to be honest with yourself and with others. Even if it’s a little mean.

If you lifted more you would have the confidence to. deal with my honesty.
I think true confidence is not caring what others think. If what you do(exercise or studying) is to compare yourself to others, you lack total confidence.

Rob works out because he lacks self confidence

the gym is where he has control and feels like he can be himself. That's great.

but like I said, he makes a living by telling others what they are doing isn't enough, which is what he is doing here.

I get that but I don't see it as a negative. Motivation, although an internal emotion, can be spurred by outside influence. Rob is that influence for some. His methods don't work for all, but they do work for many.

Go with the flow...

I agree

and do what makes you happy and let that be your way to gain "self confidence"

I don't need Rob to tell me what I need to do to gain self confidence...I am doing just fine.

I get feeling good and feeling accomplished when it comes to working out

but I don't get why he limits it to weight lifting

working out is working out is working out

It doesn't, I felt my best after a 6-8 mile run. Since my running days are pretty much over I lift pretty consistently now with a little elliptical mixed in. From my personal experience, running was the best natural confidence booster much more than lifting and way more than elliptical or biking. I felt like I looked my best during my heavy running days and little weight training.

went down 40 when @gobigred and @moxie kept making fun of my feet....
i've gained some of it back but need to get back on it.
Aw, it’s okay bubs…it’s just more to love!

Every self help program on the planet begins with self awareness. Being honest with yourself. At the end of the day many may be there to help you, but nobody will ever motivate you the way you can motivate yourself. Get mean, get angry. You guys aren’t angry yet that you have to run down and get all these shots? Or are you blah blah whatever take my shot get wasted yadda yadda life goes on?

It’s not for everybody. But everybody who gets there gets it.

I’m healthy I don’t need any of that stress.

Agree. I miss running. The elliptical is a poor replacement, but I just can’t do high impact anymore.
