You just assume that everyone wants to work at a fortune 500 company.
no i dont. I'm speculating on why more people from Wi to MN than vice versa, and the number one difference between states is twin cities and amount of fortune 500 companies

THey're not moving here for the superior sports team

I'm aware, dumb ass

But they're large employers of college educated people and lead to other jobs in support of said companies.

My cousin works for an independent shop, his largest customer, 3M

Back in my early days of investing, I concentrated on small cap stocks in the Twin Cities area. 3M was a hotbed of innovation and made lots of small companies profitable.

and pollution and cancer, but yeah.

MN isn't great taxes either, i think overall we're taxed higher than Wi.

We lose few businesses for tax purposes and there is a certain political ilk that think all of our companies are going to leave, but they don't and we constantly have new ones.

MN also has a highly educated workforce in part due to great school systems paid for by our taxes that start and innovate business as well

Wisconsin had that, too. What Minnesota had was location with the Mississippi being the border of the West and the east. Shipping made for the great agriculture companies that brought relative prosperity to the entire region. They made great use of that wealth. Kudos

oh no doubt, despite my bluster I don't actually hate Wi

The two states are very similar and I always enjoy my trips to Wi.

I like Milwaukee, Madison, and for unknown reasons, Superior, although that's mostly nostalgia of drunken college nights and not mention many lake communities out there

but if I'm going to uproot my life, it isn't going to be for another midwest state

I moved to California in my mid-20s, and decided I like our climate in the Upper Midwest more. And, I am a country lad. Can't wait until Illinois empties out some more.

And, yes, the I-94 corridor between Milwaukee and the Twin Cities is loaded with great places.

What is happening here? I came to make fun of Ohio State
