Unequal schedules will always be an issue without a true round robin. Even those have some imbalance when you look at order of opponents, placement of open dates, etc.

Illinois and Purdue don't make sense from a Nebraska fan perspective. Northwestern makes a ton of sense, give how close most of the games have been.
 
with the Pac at 12 it would be pretty easy 3 pods PNW, Cali, DESMT
play your 3 plus 3 from other pods for 9 conference games.
