Yeah, a lot of them think their high dollar coach could recruit at the same level as they do now at a less than "destination" program. I'd like to see if Saban, Dabo, Day, Smart, Fisher, etc could recruit at the same level they do now to places like Pullman, Lubbock, Manhattan (the Kansas one), etc. I don't think so....cuz I know sumpin' about trying to recruit to out of the way places fo sho.
Just watching college hoops and they were discussing some long time assistants at some "major" programs. And those assistants have mostly indicated they'd prefer to stay put instead of taking a mid major or a "lower" P5 job.
I thought, hoops ain't the same as football. A mid major or a "lower" P5 job has a lot better chance of success in hoops than one of those in football. Or at least that is the case IMHO. Hell, at last year's final four, 3 of the 4 were in that category...2 of which were "mid majors" per se. Only UCLA is "major". While Gonzaga and Houston aren't normal mid majors, neither school has P5 football money to help boost things. And it hasn't been that long that no one would even touch Baylor.
