Under the Porch with the Guide Bear!

Douchebag that speaks condescendingly, toward a crippled man that overcomes his adversity, and has a passion for aquatic life says what?
Listen here you lil faggot, the only one talking condescending to anyone is you getting mouthy with me. I was giving him information. So get off my dick, boy.

We all know that no one is on your dick. Least of all me. Your meltdown is showing.

Juice’s passion for aquatic life got him a $75,000 life from Florida Fish and Game.

Quick question: Does tCrew offer protection on a 24/7 basis?

If they do, is it three shifts of 8, or two twelves?

You do know plants can live in sand and gravel so long as they receive nutrients and water there right? You don't have to use dirt
Hey friend! I do know that and I have a bunch of them already, all those floating plants are soil-less. And some of those floaters are substantial plants too. This stuff called water lettuce is sizeable and so is this stuff called 'water hyacinth'. Now I grew hyacinth in the garden before and I doubt the two are even closely related...

So yes, there are many water plants that grow well without soil, however there are countless more that won't do well without soil, unless you are talking about hydro-ponics. Now if that's the case, fish won't be able to survive in that too rich of nutrients in the water.

For example: Those four Lilly pad plants-tubers, those plants are considered heavy feeders and more than likely they will LOVE that soil that I prepped. I have quite a variety of plants already and they are all floating in that spare 20 gallon long 'quarantine' tank.

Hey NU_FTW, thanks for showing interest in my hobby! I get the impression you did a lot of fish tanks in your life!

Here's a few pics:
Step one.jpgAfter the pot and soil soaked in water for 24 hours as instructed, I pushed the rhizome in at an angle with the crown exposed also as instructed.

Step two.jpgStep 2, I put a layer of landscape fabric on top of the muddy soil mixture, this was not instructed, this is my idea. "ya gotta keep 'em separated" sing it with me, Lovers, Friends & Dummies!

Step three.jpg Step 3. It was instructed to cover the soil with sand but I'm fresh outta sand so I used gravel instead.

And then I put all three in the tank. I decided with the 4th Lilly that I will grow it on the deck just in it's own container. I read that it is very popular in Asia to grow lillies that way. I have more tank talk but I will make another post for it. It's some heavy shit! I say I say!

So these past two days have been rough going fish tank wise. However, I'm still ahead of the game. On Friday I drove my Power Wheels into my backyard, big mistake. I thought it would help me get around back there but no way, that lardo of a Power Wheels wants to flip over way too easy!

So that was a fail and I still used my walker instead to get into the old garden I used to work and got a wheel barrow of garden soil. And then I couldn't push the wheel barrow... When Bunny got home she pushed it for me. It was just a tough day physically for me. And those ants bit me all up too.

And that brings us to yesterday. Gall dang it all to Hades! I was trying to use a piece of PVC pipe to hold down that biggest piece of fake drift wood in the tank, it was a good 4 feet long, anyway, the M-effer broke in half!!! I was bummed!

And so the tank is all cloudy again and it looks like crap but I still won the day yesterday even though it took a toll on me.

Because those god damn no good shitty fuckin ants got me again! How long can those tiny ass wholes live under water?!? WTF!

I was moving that wood around in my tank and unbeknownst to me them nasty fucks climbed up my arm and bit the shit out of the front of my shoulder AND the back of my shoulder and my neck too! At least five more bites. And these welts get huge! Up to three inches across sometimes!

I decided to grow my goldfish up so that when I get the Alpha Predators, the goldfish will be big to eat!
I meant to say, I want to grow my Gold Fish up so they will be TOO big for the alpha predators to eat... I really like my goldfish. I never kept gold fish before and I have really grown attached to the tiny shiny carp!

lol, no shit. The circus bear is quite the builder. Proud of our little bear.
Hey thanks Handi! I'm proud of you too because of things you do to help others in need. No matter how tough and gnarly and umm, rotten you might seem, you have unconditional love in your heart. You can't fool me... every day! Maybe every other day...

But yeah, when I signed up here, I liked you right now, even when you were giving me the business, it was too late because I already knew I like your presence! That thread where you beat everybody up is HILARIOUS!

HOORAY for @Handicappers !!!

Awesome man, I was just trying to help add more tools to the tool box, looks like you got it covered and have a good plan. There's also some plants that will grab onto that wood as well if you were not already aware of em I'd have to Google for proper names though. Looks like ol Pete got into the fermented honey jar last night, friggin goofballs will be goofballs.

I could be wholly wrong but I thought I read or watched in a video once that they can live a day or more depending on trapped air bubbles. Sounds unpleasant AF. You could always kill them with 🔥

The Guide Bear makes a mental note to NEVER call NU_FTW 'stupid'...! I betcha a grand or so that when Petey G. said 'stupid" that he said so it rhymes with Cupid:heh:

Anyway, this exchange, it reminds me of the Three Stooges! Okay friends, it's almost Gif: 30 Eastern!

I am interested! Anyway, I topped the tank off last night and I'm taking it easy today. Here's where it's at now.
March 6, 3pm eastern.jpgAnd that Black & Yellow toolbox has been very helpful for me to work in the tank. I really thought I was going to have to build a special ramp-cage thing or even use a harness suspended from the ceiling to be able to work in the tank, instead I am being super careful with just the toolbox and so far so good.

Left half, full light.jpgThis is the left half of the tank and the water is far from clear. The water temp has climbed from 58 (out of the tap) to 64 degrees now. I think when it warms up to the mid 70's that the plants will really take off. I really like plants, live plants, for the way they look and the fact that plants are also very beneficial to help maintain healthy water, that's a bonus and I like that too!
