when my sister and I were kids we would torment our little cousin who was named Christina with that scene. My sister would grab a wire hanger and scream it at her and then yell at her “Christina get out of that bed” and then chase her around the room with the wire hanger in her hand half the time she wasn’t even in a bed. My sister would just say it. 😂. My aunt (Christina’s mother) didn’t find it quite as amusing as we did. Haha

 
What I did today was I re-worked the pre filter and did away with the garden hose sections and hooked it up with 3/4" cpvc.

I also got after the algae, just removing it manually for now. It's surprising how much that algae can spread in just one day. The algae in the water is healthy for water quality but it sure is hideous to look at! So the tank is all stirred up again and it will get messy again tomorrow because I want to remove more algae and I also need to re-do all my wood that floats. I use that wood as baffles to calm down the current from the circulation pump so that the floating plants can find some tranquil water.

So today will be a fish tank day, and tomorrow I can get after that wall project that will take place in the front room.
I'm just gonna stick with calling it the 'front room'. I don't wanna piss Chewy @Illustrious Potentate off because he might think I'm being pretentious if I call it a 'study' or 'libary' :dhd: or whatever.

Good morning, it looks like it will be a nice day! I just want to talk about my fish tank again before I get all busy.

I only looked at it yesterday, and I named three more stunning swimmers and I'd like to introduce them today!

Now that leaves two gold fish unnamed and those two will be released into the wilderness to fend for themselves.


The swimmer at the top is Half & Half, (gender unknown) and I named them Ave & Ave because one side of them is real purdy and the other side of that fish is all washed out and bland looking. On the bottom is Candy Corn, and he's a handful!

I been gleaning the algae, it looks like algae is a problem and I will be testing my tap water and tank water to check the NITRATE levels.

Algae thrives in high nitrate water. This business of ammonia (fish waste) changing to nitrites and then to nitrates, this is something new to me that I'm learning about. Anyway friends, here is a pic after I manually removed a shit load of algae.

And BTW, removing algae and trimming the plants actually removes nitrates because those plants, including algae are consuming nitrates!

were the nitrates introduced with the dirt/soil composition you put in the pots for the plants?
