2022 College Football Playoff Discussion Thread

Im sure there will be just as there will also be talks of can they repeat. And then all the back to back material if they do
Which is why bitching about it and trying to correct people is kind of stupid. There are many things used incorrectly in our language and cultural reference systems. Grammar nazis just show their inability to adapt and go with the flow.

USC should have a better chance than Bama. Change my mind.

It really is fucked up that so many CFB viewers have such a recency bias/brand bias.

After these past 13 weeks, it’s just gross that OHST has a better chance than TCU to make the CFP.

Alabama having a better chance than USC is probably even more disgusting. :puke:

:tsk:

I think part of that is ESPN has USC at only a 39% chance of winning the CCG. Somehow that has to be factored here.
Who are they playing again? I haven’t paid enough attention to understand how a Pac without divisions work

Utah
Fri nite
How does that work? Both Oregon and Utah have 2 conference losses, but Oregon has the head to head. Also Washington has two conference losses with a head to head win against Oregon.

I say they go back to divisions and out something out there that makes sense

Utah has the advantage in conference strength of schedule.

Utah: ASU (2-7), OSU (6-3), UCLA (6-3), USC (8-1), WSU (4-5), Arizona (3-6), Stanford (1-8), Oregon (7-2), Colorado (1-8) = 38 wins, 43 losses (0.469135802469136 combined win percentage)

Oregon: WSU (4-5), Stanford (1-8), Arizona (3-6), UCLA (6-3), Cal (2-7), Colorado (1-8), Washington (7-2), Utah (7-2), OSU (6-3) = 37 wins, 44 losses (0.45679012345679 combined win percentage)

Washington: Stanford (1-8), UCLA (6-3), ASU (2-7), Arizona (3-6), Cal (2-7), OSU (6-3), Oregon (7-2), Colorado (1-8), WSU (4-5) = 32 wins, 49 losses (0.395061728395062 combined win percentage)

College football has gone from dumb, dumber, dumbest and still headed to worse, worser and worsest. It's getting to the point where I'm not giving much of a fuck anymore.
Used to be college football dominated my Saturdays in the Fall, this year, I might have watched 5 games that didn’t involve UGA(not counting mid week MACtion/Fun Belt games)

Utah in over a team they lost to when they have the same conf record is dumb. These 3 way ties that go to stupid levels to break them are a joke.
What would you have them do? Ignore the third team? Why? Cuz reasons?

They did essentially ignore the third team that entered week 13 eliminated from CCG despite a head to head win against Oregon and having the same conference record as Oregon and Utah with the Oregon loss to OrSU

Only thing they did by including Washington is hand the trip to Vegas to the only team of the three with no wins against either team with the same conference record

i dont understand why it isnt Washington anyway. same conference record as the other 2 and ranked higher both with a head to head over one of them.

There aren't just two choices. It isn't either this list of tiebreakers or ignore a team.

I didn't have an issue with UW not being included because one of their losses was against a bad team. They had the worst loss of the three. That makes sense to factor in.

Putting Utah in over the team that just beat them 2 weeks ago is just dumb.
