2022 College Football Playoff Discussion Thread

You're all by yourself on this and you're wrong.

Utah won the PAC last season making them the defending champions and no one else has won this year yet.

As defending conference champions, they remain conference champions until someone else wins the conference.

Whoever wins the conference this year will be the new conference champion and when the season starts next year, they will be the defending champs until someone else wins it.

That is how it works.
what did they say about USC under Pete
they won 7 in a row or were champions for 7 straight seasons. not they were the champs for 7 years.

@OlyDuck will die on this hill.

Mad Face Off GIF

I think if it goes like this

Georgia beats LSU
TCU loses
USC loses
Clemson loses

Alabama would get into the playoff.

It would be

Georgia
B1G Champ
Ohio State Michigan loser
Alabama

Theres your scenario village.

(Oregon still has no chance)

I think this could very well play out exactly as you've described. But until last Saturday I was one of the idiots that still thought Tennessee still had a shot and the SEC could get 3 teams in.

Oh I still have no doubt that if things went the right course the SEC woulda gotten 3 teams. Fortunately that scenario is impossible now

i saw a graphic that said Oregon has a 1% chance so someone somewhere (maybe OD) made a thing that had Oregon squeak in.
my guess is Oregon wins out. UGA beats LSU. USC loses to both ND and then Oregon. Ohio State wins big dropping Michigan with their less than strong ooc. TCU loses 2x. clemson loses. bama loses to auburn.
but yeah basically everyone in front of Oregon loses 1 or more

You can't win the lottery if you don't buy at least one ticket. But how many tickets do you have to buy in order to have a measurable chance?

more than most people can afford.

And this years award for the easiest poster to troll on the hoop goes out to....

Your brain is weird.
i never said it wasnt. i look at things differently all the time.
like the saying 2nd place is the first loser. true in a race not in a tourney
fall down 7 times get up 8. classic saying but makes no sense when you look at the numbers.

so when a senior wins a championship in Golf, wrestling, track, gymnastics does that mean their cant never be a new champion because no one can take it. No it means they won it that year and the next year someone else wins it.

Now you've gone full OD.

Congrats. :thumb:

And they were the defending champs every one of those times.

Good thing your here. With OD fixin' to go on hiatus again soon...we won't miss him as much.

Defending it means it can be taken. The years they were champs cant be taken (well except by the ncaa)
