GAME 2023 NFL Draft Thread

It is a big upgrade. It is why Williams was given much less money in New Orleans. Williams is a short yardage type back. He scored so much because he was giving the ball exclusively in the red zone and had like a dozen 1 or 2 yard scores.

Montgomery ran behind one of the worst OL's in the NFL. He will have a career year running behind Detroit's OL.
If Monty has a career year, it means drafting Gibbs was insanely stupid.

I understand that. But I also know how that type of feeling can still manifest in this situation. I think that a not insignificant number of fans will see him to some degree as "Not Jalen Carter".
I think the only way that really happens is if Robinson is a bust and Carter is a stud, and if that’s the case, it would be fair IMO.

I think both will be studs FWIW

Monty is the replacement for Williams and his 17 goal line touchdowns. Gibbs is the replacement for Swift. Two different roles.

At least that’s what it looks like.

Well, I could not be happier. Brad Holmes is a bad ass. Best GM of my lifetime.

RB Gibbs
MLB Campbell
TE Laporta
S Branch
QB Hooker ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Some big DT I never heard of.

A+ draft so far. Hope it looks just as good on the field as it does on paper.

2 more picks today

Did you guys see the MI K went in R3 to SF?? 😳

If the Lions had taken Brian Branch at 12 and Gibbs in the 2nd round everybody would be praising them.

:kermit:

Do NFL scouts even watch college football?

Will Levis and Anthony Richardson? WTF?

Both often COST their team games last year. Surely a better QB is out there. I saw a shit ton of Florida players going in the draft, WTF. Florida sucked. They would be better off picking up players from Oregon State or Vanderbilt who beat Florida.

Gibbs is a HUGE pickup. I knew Hooker would drop off due to the injury but to pick Hooker up that late was brilliant.

A lot better than the dumbass Titans.

How did Darnell Washington fall to the third round? Geez, stupidity throughout this draft.

LOL at Detroit picking two Bama players. They never learn.

I am praising the Lions.
I think the Lions & the Eagles (unfortunately) are killing it.

Gibbs is going to take over Swift's role. Gibbs at under 200 lbs isn't going to be a bell cow RB. He is going to alternate possessions and be used in pass downs.

He wouldn't last in the NFL if they gave him 20-25 carries a game and were throwing the ball to him as well

Brian Branch, S, Alabama

3rd Tide player taken in the last two years.

Pipeline.
The Georgia to Philly pipeline is looking even better now. Kelee Ringo, Nolan Smith, Jalen Carter, Jordan Davis, Nakobe Dean.

They may as well start handing out NIL to deals to Georgia defensive players to get them prepped for the NFL

Just heard you can add D'Andre Swift to the Georgia pipeline to Philly. Half their locker room is going to be Georgia players

Damn. Howie not screwing around. Just made a trade to Luons for Swift. Love this move.
