GAME 2023 NFL Draft Thread

I think Bijan will be a great player, I just don’t like the idea of spending a top 10 pick on a RB, especially when the top rated player in the draft is still there and is a position of need. RB wasn’t a problem for the Falcons. Run defense and pass rush were, as was o-line. That pick needed to either be Carter or an o-lineman

You have a rookie 1,000+ yard rusher on the squad already. You could've given me 20 guesses and Robinson wouldn't have been the name I would have guessed.

Chewy is just a tad biased when it comes to college players...

but I think the Falcons pick was just fine. I think they have a talent that will give them plenty of yards.

All that bitching and moaning all day and you still watched.

Good for you.

I like the Lions and the direction they're headed, but those were two of the most bone-headed picks I've ever seen. If they work out, that's great, but wow.

Meh. After months of looking at mocks we’re conditioned ti expect certain things. I wanted Bijan badly, but let’s see how it goes. You could see so many sparks from Swift in this O but he never got it going full-speed. Let’s hope they fixed that w Gibbs. Goff w a real weapon at RB is definitely what he needed most.

Taking the top LB in the nation isn’t too bad either.

I just don't want to see the city/state start out with a grudge against the kid because of who he isn't rather than evaluating who he is, especially since I think that "who he is" seems pretty fucking special :thumb:
There’s not gonna be the case. If they’re gonna have a grudge against anyone, it will be the GM. Last year passing on Jamaree Salyer to draft his UGA teammate Justin Schaffer still has a lot of people feeling bitter. Literally everyone knew Salyer was a far better player.

Unfortunately, if I had 3 guesses, Robinson would have been one of them. It’s been rumored in then local sports media for around a month now

Haha. Major reach and no way should have gone this early. You can always find almost someone that likes any pick. Most I’ve seen has this pick as a C or D rating

I had Gibbs in the mix at 18. He was going top 20 for sure either way.

with 3 picks in round 2 and Mayer still out there im now open to taking a TE tonight.

Good news is you guys definitely have serious weapons on O now. Ridder will definitely get his chance to flourish.

It's a fair point about mock drafts, it happens every year. That said, I feel like Campbell would've been sitting right there with your early 2nd rounder. He's a really good player, I just don't know how much of a premium you put on that sort of player. As far as Gibbs goes, I wouldn't have disliked that pick as much if they didn't still have Swift under contract and $6m a year going to Montgomery. Just doesn't make a ton of sense, especially that early.

The thing about that is that Allgier had a fine rookie season, and Patterson has flourished as a receiving threat out of the backfield.

There was only two position groups that I would have said the Falcons are in good shape, and that would have been RB and CB.

I’m not high on Ridder at all, but if he’s the QB of the future, he’s gonna need better pass protection than he got last year. O-line is a position of need. As is d-line.

When you have as many flaws as the Falcons do, drafting a RB at 8 just isn’t smart.

1st round RBs are luxury picks that don't make sense for teams in rebuilds. With the talent at OL, DL, even WR that was there, it's such a head-scratcher.

If you're Allgier, are you asking for a trade?

RB's and LB's have some lowest positional value in modern NFL

I definitely wouldn’t have hated drafting JSN even if it meant trading back. London seems fine the rest of the receivers are pretty meh.

Allgier probably isn’t happy. Patterson probably isn’t either since he’s probably gonna have to move back to WR

I risked 550 to win 100 on JSN being the first receiver drafted. It wound up being a sweat

don't worry, I bitched to my friends on group chats the entire time...

those "superfans" that attend might be some of the saddest looking people I have ever seen.

It looks exhausting and boring. Too much extra stuff going on to enjoy. It’s in Detroit next year. If we can get a work suite like we’re doing for Taylor, I’ll go. Otherwise I’ll chill at home in the cave.
