It will be interesting to see how their fans support the team when they're pulling a 'Blackhawks'.

Look, there is definitely a portion of fans that are strictly Knights fans. These people are annoying as fuck to other fans that actually follow hockey. These assholes are already claiming Stanley Cup victory, crying about how mean chucky is, and cant name a single player on any team other than the knights. These are the first people that will, and have already, bowed out of going to games before. When it was not sure they would make the playoffs one year, they just sold off their tickets, because they are going for the event, not the game, and if they arent going to win, its not worth it for them to go.

There are real hockey fans here, regardless of what the haters say. But if they go on a skid, there will be a drop off.

Also I love the hatred of the Knights and our fans. Its that raw unadulterated jealously that makes my soul whole.

You're describing every Blackhawks "fan" I know. When they were going on their Cup runs, "Chelsea Dagger" was their ringtone and they had Blackhawks license plate frames on all of their vehicles. Those same people - ask any of them to name three players on the Blackhawks roster this past year - before the deadline - they couldn't get past Kane and Toews. I truly hope this Vegas run creates deeper hockey fandom than that because fans like that should just go watch the NBA instead.

tbh the fact that like 2/3rds of Knights fans are all dressed up and LARPing like NFL fans is kinda lame.

I don't get if you people are like playing into the Vegas stereotype or if you people are actually like that.

Have you gone to any Knights playoffs games during this run?

1. Over the past several years towards the end of the season the local news would mention that Broncos season ticket holders were looking to sell their tickets during disappointing seasons.

As far as odd fans. When I was a season ticket holder for UNLV hoops I noticed that the same people would pay to enter the Thomas & Mack for a game but spend the entire time drinking at the Jack Daniels bar. Always thought that was weird.

I have been one game of each level of the playoffs. Havent been to the finals game yet, and just cant see spending that kind of money to go.

Meh. A lot of that is just the thrill of backing a winner. Every city has bandwagon fans.

Time will tell if hockey has staying power in LV. Certainly, stacking the deck in favor of immediate competitiveness and instant playoff berths is more likely to have team support for the long haul, than whatever the hell the idea of putting teams in Atlanta and Phoenix, was supposed to be about. Being taken seriously as a city that can support pro sports teams is something that a place either has or has not. The image of everything about Vegas being transitory populations and based around casinos on the Strip, is obviously false. We’ll see if it continues to support its teams after the initial excitement & championship fever dies down, though indications are it will be able to sustain Winnipeg levels of support, at least.

Gotta get rid of that Cirque du Soleil warmup act though. Very cringe.

I have to own the "cheesy" factor around the team. Its just what Vegas is. Its like adult disneyland.

lol at initial excitement, and championship fever dies down.

It will go away. It’s a sports business, built around playing a tough game.

You’ll know it when it happens. As I said, it won’t be like Phoenix. But it’s sure as hell not going to be like Toronto. Or Chicago. Or even Philly. The lean years define a city’s support for its teams.

That's why I give Detroit props... They've went 4/4 for utter shitshow franchises in the past decade and have still supported all four franchises pretty well throughout.

2 Knights goals in 1:45. 4-1 with 7 left in 2nd. Panthers look like they are done for

Kessel getting another cup is great.

As is Eichel.

Scumbag Hurricanes and Scumbag Penguins didn't win so its all fine.
