Fucking hilarious that rain screws up the race absolutely no one wanted.

The ex mayor and NASCAR officials are the only ones that thought this was a good idea. There was no chance this was gonna be anything other than a disaster. For gambling purposes and my pool that I have a shot at first place, I hope they get the Cup race in, but if it completely washed it out, it would be fitting.

NASCAR has tried 3 different venues to make it in the Chicago area. They raced at Soldier Field in the 50’s(which I’d watch for the novelty), a track that the truck series raced at that lasted only 3 years, and Chicagoland, which was one of the best 1.5 mile tracks on the schedule, but still couldn’t draw.

Gateway is close to St Louis, but still in Illinois, and it’s sold out every race, but they couldn’t just take that win and be satisfied, they had to push for some gimmick race that shuts down part of a major city in cars that aren’t meant for street courses.

I really hope this is a one off.

Snoozer. There's no room to pass and the majority of drivers just aren't interested in playing bumper cars.

I know they can’t control the weather, and F1 isn’t racing in those conditions either, but this is gonna rank up there with the 2008 Brickyard 400 for most embarrassing weekends in NASCAR history

They’re probably not racing today. Record for most rain in a day recorded in Chicago. Tires are literally floating on pit road. They could race jet prop boats on the track before they could race cars right now

Public roads are gonna be slicker than purpose build race track. I don’t know what was so wrong with Road America. Same general area, had good crowds, and the racing wasn’t terrible
